ZorroAMG's latest lil Mod In Progress...
Result: The E36 is EXACTLY the proper width and required simply a bit of trimming on the top part that goes under the hood. Trimming makes it sit perfectly flush and I am only talking 1/4" trim straight across.
Here are pics of the eyelids with a coat of adhesive promoter, 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear...looks pretttty damn good IMHO. Once I let the clear dry (the clear I use requires 48hrs before handling for some reason) I will install and take finished pics!!

Comments? Thoughts? Stay tuned to this thread for finished shots!!
I'm very interested in seeing, how they actually look like once installed.
Good stuff !!
I think eyelids only look good when you can't tell they're even there. So we'll see, it looks like you're on the right path!
First I always thought the W124 had a little too much headlight real estate in front, this will tone it down slightly.
Second, I will be doing a bi-xenon projector retrofit this august with a W211 E55 bi-xenon setup and the clear lensed projectors you see on ebay. Unfortunately all of those are 94-95 style lights and will have a goofy gap that the eyelids will cover.
Stay tuned...another 24hrs and I'll install em. I test fitted them when they were unpainted black plastic and they looked great...

Side note, lol lost a clear corner on the highway today (tab broke last time I took it out and it was only held on by friction at this point hahahahah guess it's time for the new crystal clears...sucks I lost it though
Also I replaced the standard foggy white corners with my clear ones in preparation for the new headlights...(and the fact that I lost one on the highway today hahaha)
Anyway...
Before

After

Shiaaaty pics don't do em justice...they look great in person. I will be addressing the way it doesn't flow perfectly with the corners once I get the new headlights...
EDIT: Oh and I left the drivers door open during the one pic I was able to get....so I chopped it closed, that's why it looks a bit odd...

I'm pleasantly surprised. It looks great. And it goes further to prove that I chose the wrong color for my 124... Champagne. wtf was I thinking?
Lol, black (or dark gray in this case) looks much better with mods. Although how are you liking trying to keep your car clean now that you're in Vancouver, Zorro? lol The rain in seattle makes it hardly ever worth it to wash mine!
