I am wanting to make the yellow lights closest to the grill the same as my headlights (or close to it). What brand bulb should I use?

Go with something like the Sylvania Silver Star...
Good quality and light output, reasonable price and available at any auto supply !

I had gotten some H3 fog light bulbs (Sylvania Silver Star) for my other car project and put one in my 260E to see if it made a difference. It made the color look more yellowish and seemed to be a bit brighter...

Tonight one of my yellows burt out, so i decided to replace it with the supposed 100W buld that they sell at autozone. On the road i don;t see much of a difference, but when starring at it outside it does seem to be a bit brighter.

I appreciate you not cutting your reply into chapters...or even volumes. I am probably just going to hold out until I get the Euro headlights. I forgot about the yellow housings

two questions:

1. why are the factory fogs yellow? never seen that in a non euro car.
2. if you have aftermarket euro lights can i just switch the bulb to change the color or is there a colored relfector in there?

Safety feature.

Yellow lighting is much easier on the eyes as opposed to "regular" lighting. So you see in rain, white light reflects of the rain particles versus yellow light that is also reflected but to a much lesser "kelvin" degree if you will...so it's easier on the eyes.

and it attracts more attention, of course.

Bosch Euros. They ARE expensive, but they are the best quality. I am getting them throught the dealer at wholesale, so it should not cripple my piggy bank too much.

You can remove the yellow glass cover of the fogs. You have to pulldown the headlight housing, then dis-assemble the fog light as the yellow glass is held in the casing by the H3 bulb metal holder. Hope this helps.

I have a GREAT idea Zed....turn the fogs on (full turn to the right, one pull out on headlight switch), get out of the car, walk around to the front (that's where the headlights are located on most automobiles, including yours) and look directly to the left of the drivers side headlight and directly right of the passenger side headlight. The headlights are the large glass apparatuses next to the grille...the grille is...i think you get the picture) That is the "fog light" and once the light has reached your retinas, had a chance to mingle with the rods and cones of the eye to determine the color, sent a message via synapses to your brain, you will more than likely be able to distinguish the color.

Hope that helps.
