Just a few Q's for Zorro and the rest of the family.
Howdy yall. I have a 92 300e I picked up here on Oahu when i got stationed here in june. I am completely hooked. I have many plans for my Merc that include:
1.Repaint total including bumper guards(its white and grey now) possibly changing to caddilacs pearl white, I will have my grill surround de-chromed and smoothed before paint. I will also be painting my valve cover white.
2. I want the AMG front bumper and ducktail
3. I will also be putting on a flowmaster exhaust with AMG tips
4. Cold air intake.
5. Tint (I havent decided on the level yet)
6. Also eibach springs and new shocks/struts
7. And small items like chrome door handles, chrome lock pins, and chrome door sills.
I have already bought but not yet installed a set of SL55 AMG 18" Rims, Zebrano gauge covers, chrome projector 1pc headlights, nicer smooth taillights and led mirror covers.
As everythig on this bloody Island is ridculously expensive most of my mods will wait untill we are back in New Braunfels (nice little german town for a nice german car)
My questions are:
Zorro
1. Does Enzo have any other body additions other than the front bumper and the duck tail. I cant see any and trust me I have looked.
2. Where did you get your grill star delete? I have found many for the later model w124 and the w201's but not the one you have.
3. Where did you get your eyelids for Enzo?
If anyone has any suggestions feel free I am open to suggestions.
Oh and my radio antena is broken any cool suggestions?

1. Other than the ductail and bumper, I body colored all my lower cladding and chrome, body colored my grille surround, custom billet aluminum grille, body colored my door handles and tinted my windows (light tint) all around. I also added PIAA LED fogs (2 sets) in the bumper where the overpriced AMG units would go.
2. Do you mean my flat badge instead of the hood star? That is a Carlsson flat badge I got when I bought my wheels (carlsson trunk script too).
3. As shadow said, they are E36 BMW eyelids, I shaved off a 1/4 inch off the top edge to fit properly and painted them body color..simple!
Good luck!

The chrome on the side panels is still there but painted...there was never chrome on the AMG bumper so to match, the chrome on the factory rear was removed, holes filled and bumper re-sprayed (after someone sucked at parallel parking and decided to use my car as parktronic haha)
Here you can see the painted chrome strips:

Black chrome will make them blend in, but still give them a badass look up close. That way it doesnt look like there are just random *** lines there for no reason.

Zed I'm not sure if the wheels will fit either but for $500 I couldnt pass them up. I will have the fenders rolled I am just not sure of the back spacing. I need 15mm spacers to give them the same backspacing as stock. I can get tires that give me the same circumfrence. But, I dont know if the Merc can handle having the wheels 1/2" further out. It might rub "Wee will see".

Wheel fitment is one of the dillemas I've been thinking about a lot lately(despite not owning a w124 quite yet). Since I come from cars(rwd japanese sports cars) where the lower the offset the better; having friends running wheels with rediculous widths and negative offsets(18x12 -32 anyone?), I'm curious to see how flush I can manage to get wheels without too much stretch or rubbing. Of course, not having adjustable coilovers and camber plates or arms to play with makes it all the more difficult.
But, if a 190e can have fitment this good, whats stopping any124 owners from it?
I say make them fit. Stretch a 225 on the back and a 215 on the front and massage your fenders if need be.
And take pictures.
:P
If it doesn't work... Well, it doesnt work, but you'll have a better idea of what will fit for your next set of wheels.

Ok so I have an interim idea for my Benz. I am going to get the whole car painted when I get back to Texas in Aug. Well until then I was thinking of taking my grill off and spray painting it white to try and match my car untill I can get it done properly. I was wondering if any one here has sprayed over their chrome and if so how long did it last?
