Wheels... (NOT fitment)
I've had a look at AMG, Brabus (eww), Carlsson, HRE, DPE, Work, AutoCouture, BBS and Lowenharts.
I quite like the AutoCouture Magnifique (spelling) but do you guys have any idea which wheels would be best for the 124? I'm dumping the 17 AMGs cux they are just far too common..

Oh the attached is a pic of the Magnifique on a 1967 Toyota Crown.
If you're looking to step away from the norm, my choice would be carlssons. I got my monoblock replicas because there were other things I wanted to do with my money... but if I really had done what I wanted to do, I would've gotten some Carlssons.
My favorites, in order:
1) 1/6 Evo (unfortunately I think it only comes in an 8.5" width)
2) Original 1/6 (DOES come in your desired size)
3) 1/5- these look cool with a really heavily modded car and a big brake kit
Thing is, they don't seem to offer them in 18 and in the polished look (i.e. on the Crown) anymore. I'll see what they can do..

Do you guys have any idea as to other brands?
Cheers

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

The 17" Evo wheels are awesome on a W124 and I believe they were available from the dealer with a perfect offfset for our cars. I still love my 16" AMG Aero I wheels, in part because they are less common than the newer AMG wheels that everyone seems to have. I also like the sharper edges on my older AMG wheels, compared to the smoother edges of of the newer AMG wheels. I think that is why I like the Evo wheels too. They have the machined look.
The EVO wheels sure do look nice. I can't agree more with you ksing! However, I'm trying to go for rims with more face to them. Seems to me to suit the 124 better.
LOL Appat. I wouldn't mind letting them go for free but shipping but be a PITA. They are worth next to nothing in Hong Kong (my friend has just traded in a set of my AMGs (but non-staggered) for something neighbouring a ridiculous $50). Well, to be fair, his rims had lots of rash and the tires are nearly all gone, but still..
I bought my rims for $500, spent $$ on tires and refurb. I guess people in HK just don't appreciate these rims (these cars really).

Also, a guy named Holson (from benzworld) purchased some from his dealer for his E420. He said, "I bought a set of these 17x7.5" Evo II wheels from the MB dealer for $320 ea. Wheel part number is B6 647 0518 and the lug bolt set's PN B6 6 47 0133 ($18 ea. set of 5)"

, but it was fun for me. My azure blue 1995 special edition looked pretty good compared to his smoke silver (beige) diesel. I let him drive mine too. After feeling my inline six gasser
, I think his diesel may not have felt too good. I also have the aftermarket tweaked suspension
, so I'm sure that also made an impression.

Was there some disagreement?
