People, how much will you pay for a 100% genuine Wald EX kit?
I've got a contact in Japan who knows some people in Wald. Wald says they have no stock, but the mold and everything is there and they are willing to make it to order.... Hmm.. Tempting.. I was very close to getting a, as RBYCC said, Fald EX kit LOL..

I wouldn't pay more than $3k, but that's just me. I wouldn't be surprised if they want more than that.

For Americans, it definitely doesn't help that the exchange rates are so terrible right now!!

Thats ALMOST as much as my real AMG kit.

A real BRAND new WALD EX should NOT cost anymore than $1,200 or $1K. I remember getting quotes in the past. Also, I'm sure you can get it for much cheaper now that I look at it. I would definitely not pay over $1,500 for a cheap fiberglass kit.

lol yeah I guess that is a lot. But where could I get an EX kit for $1,200??!? I would seriously consider buying one if that's the case... I would have to modify it to fit my car, that would be worth it!

Yeah but the sideskirts were the wrong size and the ETA on those was unknown so I kept looking. Unfortunate though - I'm sure Pete would of been all over it.

AFAIK, the genuine kits are also made of cheap fibreglass. Are they really thin and weak?
I am also considering the AMG kit but IMO it wouldn't suit my car very well. So this is really a last resort. Easy enough to get a genuine one though direct from AMG.


Chris, there's not enough room to fit fog lights on the EX is there? The V4 seems too attention-seeking to me, but that's just me..

I think I actually remember that kit. I considered it a little. The EX kit isn't very low, so I would probably be happy with the front lip and the bumper add-on, and skip the side skirts... I dunno.

I agree with you, but I think the side skirts go really well together with the front and rear lips/apron. Don't know why.
Oh and it sucks for me too. Since HK dollar is pegged to USD.. =_="

Jonari the Wald importer quoted me $1581.00 to my door for a coupe V4 kit, including the fog lights.
I like the aggressive V4 look, but the front spoiler clearance is too low to get out of my street... that's why I ended up with a front EX and a ducktail

I totally agree about the V4 kit. I like the look, but I don't think it's doable for me. Unless I take a sharp angle leaving my parking garage, I scrape... and even then I still scrape sometimes. The V4 kit would get thrashed in no time on my car.

If you ae going to order from Wald, why not see if they can supply the V4 sideskirts for the coupe in the EX kit.
V4 sideskirts are in my mind better looking then the EX as they appear a bit smoother.

The more that I look at the V4 coupe kit, the more I salivate....

I dunno, I think the EX side skirts go pretty well with the EX kit... The V4 side skirts look like they might be pretty big and might hang lower than the front lip and rear apron. I agree with you that they look better overall, but I just don't know about how well they would flow with the EX...

Looks the part, not sure how FRP holds up to wear/tear. I would love that on my CE, thats for sure!

I've been told that those kits are actually fiberglass, not plastic. So I'm not sure how they get away with that. But I've never actually talked to somebody who has bought a kit from those guys.

Definitely a replica, and I've heard replicas almost always are a hassle to fit properly. They make it very clear on their FAQ page that these are not "do it yourselfer" kits and they must be professionally installed. To me, I assume that means all of their claims about perfect fit and finish must not be true and that modifications are necessary to get it to fit.

For $1,500, the wald kit would be worth it over that. I assume after shipping, those NR Auto kits are more expensive.

:C Thats a shame, because the AMG Gen I looks really sick. Oh well, my ideal is still the Demec kit, but god knows what its made from, how well it fits, how much shipping is, etc.

Heard they are not available anymore. But last time I spoke to my AMG guy in Germany he quoted me a price.

this is just me but i dont like the way the wald kits or AMG kits look at all. i dont know why but i dont think they make the car look any more classy the the stock kits, or really bring much Attention to the detail or style or look of the w124.

all w124's look box ish and the kits i see play off the boxish look or reinvent the look with more round curves in the wrong places.

thats just me. if i had the cash i would go with a 1 off kit for 3k or cut and make my own off the stock it is not hard to do fiberglass work at all.

but i do see some nice looking ones out there like your car Chris that is one of the best on here if not the best
