1994 E320
Question Looking to possibly buy 1994 E320, need help!

Hello everybody!

The car that I'm looking at is: 1994 E320 with 83000 miles on it, one owner, record books and all of that, not sure about options. I have only seen this car in the pictures and it looks great, exterior/interior is black, all original car. I will be able to see and drive this car on Friday. What should I look for in the records book, what is the most important part to look for? Asking price is $9995. Is this too much? Thanks a bunch! Please help!

Yes, that's too much. If it truly is a nice car with no problems that lived in a gentle climate it might be worth $7500.

^ What he said...
and by nice car for $7500, I'd like to see and believe that it was garage kept and maybe the wiring harness has already been replaced, or that $1200 is on you... or maybe the head gasket has been replaced, or that $1200 is on you.

Black on black increases the value for many, as a black Benz turns heads, period.

I agree, too much, more 7-8 grand would be more reasonable. But the car seems real nice from the description.

Black on black, while nice, is VERY common...especially in the US.

Wait until you go see it, if the price in your budget range. Some people claim "cream puff" or whatever....I suppose being an MBCA Concours judge has jaded my expectations somewhat lol...

Condition and maintenance are absolutley key as to value.

This one is probably a better deal, and the work has already been done.

As Chappy says...
These cars can be poorly / moderately maintained but then buffed to such a shine that they look garage kept. The interiors hold up remarkably well too, so dogmeat can be made to look like Steak. Buyers beware.

All I'm saying is go look at the car first. Be diligent in your search, then have a thorough PPI done if you like the car and can come to terms with the seller.

I had lots of "numbers" thrown at me when I sold my 300CE. I told the "interested" parties that I would not entertain any offers unless they were willing to look at the car in person and test drive it. (or at least have me drop off the car at their shop of choice for a PPI).

Even beauty queens with ultra low mileage can run and drive like crap!

95 e320...sold the rest
I bought my 94 e320 with 115k on it, and it was 7500...

That's because I had to have my head replaced, as well as my wiring harness before I purchased the car. He installed them free of charge, but I still had to pay for the parts...which isn't all that bad I guess
