I had the same headlights on my 300E. Loved them.

Yeah, way less fluting. I wonder if HIDs would be safe in those housings, or would they spray cause of the little bit of fluting on the lens?

Looks great!

Saijin, how are they less fluted? They are the same as the Bosch euros I had that tossed light around. Still better than any DOT halogen system though!

I was saying way less fluting than the stock DOT housings, I have never seen the Bosch Euros. Do they toss it dangerously, or is a bit of scatter?

There is some stray light, but for the most part the beam is well focused and on par with the Hella Euros I had on my W201. I can't comment on the stock headlights, as its been quite a while since I had them on my car.

The Depos look like exact copies of the Hella's, I suspect comparing the lenses they would be very similar, flutting and all.

Alright, I guess those would be okay lenses for a HID retro then. That's a very eventual thing, but I'd like to see at night whilst not taking that privilege away from anyone else on the road.

The reflectors and flutting are not correct for the amount of lumens that HID burners put out. They can be retrofitted (HID projectors that is) but you would need to figure out to sand/polish the flutting so its clear.

This is a good write up on how to retro fit HID projectors into the euro headlights.

Yeah HIDs in even Bosch or Hella OEM Euros would still be glaring and bad output. Not as bad as ricers in their DOT civic headlights but still no projector setup.

I don't know. Its higher than I would like though. I assume when the previous owners replaced the shocks, it was altered or something.

Once I get my engine all squared, that will be one of the next things to do.

The beams are SO MUCH better. Check this out:

I know my camera isn't great at night (3MP phone camera) but you can see the difference. Taken at the same place, although tonight there were cars. You can see how the stock lights were almost nonexistant. They were god aweful

I still have some adjustments to make too.

FWIW, while testing bulbs, I found the Mtec's to be the whitest, aside from the JDM Piaa's (which cost too much), the Silverstars are not as bright and yellow in comparison. I have since replaced all my Silverstars

I don't have a clue about bulbs. Do the MTEC SUPER WHITE HID H4 HALOGEN BULBS WITH BLUE CAP fit in my 1995 E320? I recognize the "H4" designation, but I'm confused because when I went to the website link from Ebay to use the replacement guide I couldn't match up the Ebay bulbs with the numbers from the website.

From website:
1995 MERCEDES-BENZ E Series
High & low beam headlamp
9003/HB2
9003SU Silverstar ULTRA for Ultra Night Vision - The Whitest and Brightest Halogen
9003ST Silverstar High Performance Lighting: The Whiter and Brighter Halogen
9003XV XtraVision Halogen - The Brighter Light
9003CB Cool Blue Halogen - The Whiter Light

Negatory, sir. The bulb's BASE may be interchangeable but a euro H4 bulb will be better output than the 9003 IIRC.
