Thermometer calibrate

Does anyone know of a procedure to Calibrate the Thermometer on the instrument panel? Mine says its 177 degrees F and im pretty sure its not. haha.

Good question, mine is reading about 97-100F at 5am in New Jersey, which it most certainly is not :P

The sender is probably bad. Not sure where it is located, but most cars its out by the grill in front of the condenser and such.

The temp sensor is attached to the front license plate frame. If you remove the plate you will see it. There is no calibration for it so it is probably defective.

Perhaps, if you don't find the sensor out front, someone either moved it under the hood, or removed it.

Yes, I agree with shdoug.

Years ago mine would sometimes flash 55 (Centigrade) and then disappear. I replaced the sensor with one recovered from a donor car.

Recently, the same again. 55 and then dead.

A new sensor is on the way from Berlin so I hope to have it working again next week.

Looks like Autohausaz has them. About 70 bucks.
