What the funk is with my trunk?
My trunk is being silly, perhaps something with the spring. I went to close the trunk and it wouldn't close.
Then I got it closed, but it wasn't flush on the left side, right side looks fine, but left side is popping out a bit.
So when I got home I tried playing around with it, and I can't even get it closed.![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
So I've just left it fully open, hoping gravity will make the thing even...
Any ideas how to fix this?
Edit, added pics, the first one shows what it should look like, well, the other ones show an obvious problem....

check to make sre the trunk lining isn't getting caught under the arms/springs. just go round the edge of your trunk and look for things that are sticking up or that might block the trunk from closing. remember that the trunk arms are bent, so even though something might look like it's okay when the trunk is open, it might be getting caught when it closes...

A welder most likely would not charge too much for the work. It would definitely be cheaper than buying and painting another lid. The problem would probly be detaching the arm from a donor car. Look into it.

Yeah, I just found a welder on a local forum, I sent him a pm and a link to the pictures, just waiting to hear back from him.
I doubt I could find a donor part car though, hopefully this guy can rig something up for me, though it is unlikely.
Dammit this car is costing me a lot of money lately.
But I won't let go, w124 for EVER!
