Shock Q...

Ok this is the story. I decided I want my shocks replaced,of course I chose Bilshtein. I went to some merz shop. I told him I want my all shocks replaced with Bilstein ones, he called and ordered the shocks, few days later shocks arrived I got there and decided to see how the shocks looks, and for my surprize on the package wasnt Bilshtein name, instead was some Shok or shokc or something like that. I asked the guy why does on the box says shoks or something, but not bilstein. I looked everywere, on the box, in the box, in the instruction paper, there was no sign of bilstein word. He told me that this is bilsteins and their chaged their name. So my q is, is it true, does bilstein comes in dark blue package with some word shok?

Box should have the blue and yellow logo and the part number.
Part number should begin with "F4-B36" or "F4-V36"
You should get a copy of the Bilstein warranty and it does say Bilstein on it.

No stickers, nothing... Plain black shocks and struts... I think it should be something, sticker or logo that shows it's bilstein, but those were black, no signs of bilstein name. Just want to make sure I have what I paid for, not some other **** like KYB.

Anywayz does not pass the smell test, walk away while you can.

Sounds to me like you got ripped off. Ask them for proof that they are REAL bilstein shocks. Btw - The hd and comforts are black with a a small yellow/blue sticker on them that say bilstein. How much did you pay them?

Im going there on Mon or tue. Shocks are black with no stickers nor nothing, box was dark blue with the writing SHACKS on the box. I opened the box, took the shocks out, saw no bilstein on them, took aut all papers from the box, there was instruction how to recicle old shocks and made in germany, thats all I saw. I paid 650 with the labor. Parts 450 labor 200

Wow, bilstein sports run around $439 plus tax. They could have given you shocks that cost $280 like sachs or monroe and the made $200 on the parts alone. If they try to scam you by telling you they changed their name why is the website the same? http://www.bilstein.com/index1.php
Ask them if you can get the paper with the lifetime warranty info from Bilstein.
Also, ask them to specify the exact model that you purchased like Heavy Duty or comforts.

This is your best friend when it comes to shady shops...

These are yellow sport shocks.

I finally got all the parts together to do the Sportline conversion on my Kombi. I was curious to look at the struts as the boxes seemed pretty heavy. So I opened one last night and it is all black and made by Sachs.

Maybe your mechanic got you stock struts?
