The chrome ones --- I originally had Aero I's Chrome on the car. I had the car in an independent Mercedes Shop over in MD for service about 5 years back. It was behind a locked gate -- and next morning the wheels were gone and car was on the ground ! I figured it was an inside job. I am now running chrome Areo II's as Aero I's are hard to find and in good condition folks are asking a lot of money for them. The Aero II's just don't have the same look - No Lip... I now have crossed drilled rotors as well. Would be nice to have a more open wheel so I could paint the calipers and actually see the rotors !

when i was looking at mandrus wheels, the offsets available wouldn't work on my car with the 8.5 width... you may have to end up stretching tires i think. been a long time, i can't remember which way the offset was off, either too high or too low. make sure to check into that, otherwise i like them!

Thanks much Zed, I will definitely check before purchasing --- The FOr My Mercedes site says they will fit - but you are correct - better check first. I have 17's now and hope to go with 18's.

The 18x9.5 with the 2.5" lip would be sweet --- Probably wishful thinking... The 8.5 may be more reasonable - I currently run 235/40 17's. The AMG Aero 1's I had I think were 17 x 8's, I do not remember the offset.

The wheel offset is the distance from the hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. There are three types of offsets.
Positive Offset
A positive offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is positioned in front of the true centerline of the wheel. Most factory rims will have this type of offset.
Zero Offset
When the hub mounting surface is centered within the rim, it is known as a zero offset.
Negative Offset
If the hub mounting surface is on the brake side of the center line of the rim, it is considered a negative offset or "deep dish".
On our cars I believe you normally would need some fender mods to fit negative offset - deep dish as our cars call for a positive offset wheel.
This seems to be a good explanaton: http://og-made.com/archives/2174
Please correct me if I am wrong - I think our cars rate a 35-42 offset.
