Mounting fog lights on stock bumper?

Was wondering if you guys think it would work out good or not.

I really love the bodykit, but its just not high on my priority list right now, but a set of fog lights totally would! I just LOVE the way low down fog lights look.

So...

1) Would it be possible?
If so,
2) where would I get a set that should work?
3) Any links on how to connect it? Would it simply wire up in place of the fog lamps in the headlights?
4) Does MTEC sell fog bulbs to match my regular beam or would I just match the (rating?) (4,350K) using any quality brand?

Look at Zorro's car...if I recall he mounted two small round lights on either side.

Wiring is easy....take a power feed from the stock fog and wire it to a relay coil.
The other side of the coil goes to ground.
Take a new power feed from wherever you can find it in the fuse box, run it through an inline fuse and then to the new lights.
The other side of the lights goes to ground.

This way when you pull out the fog light switch you'll have both the stock and new ones illuminiated.

Zorro has an AMG GenII bumper.

I am also curious to see if anyone has done this. Ive noticed someone on this boards' car has cutouts in his stock bumper, but no fog lights.

Now if I could just remember who that was....

You are correct...

I was considering it with the stock bumper, even made a template.
If I recall you could fit a maximum of about a 2.75" round light in the widest part of the opening.

Gave it up when I installed the Wald knockoff as the location was where my air intake duct is to my filter box for the turbos.

Garfunkle did something like this, I remember. Search for his car and something should come up. I believe there are a couple of current members that have done this as well.

Yeah it was Garfy. Easy....cut openings, fashion brackets or use ones with the lights, mount and wire. Mine are wired to the battery on separate switches....I have the ability to run the HID portion or just the LED rings...

I still have to cut the openings a bit bigger to allow the outer fogs to show completely...that will get done whenever I have the chance to re-spray my front end....boooourns to rock chips.

I like how that looks. Maybe I'll go for that shape. Should be alot easier that way.

Do you know how he bolted it on?

As I know, all fitting was included.
Lights are bolted directly to the bumper.

Those lights you posted look a lot like 500e fogs.

I remember a while back when I posted a thread on my front bumper repair I cut out some rectangular openings with the intention of finding some fogs that looked period to the car. Still have not gotten around to this, however I did spot some cheapy rectangular fogs at Autozone that I though would look decent. BTW if any of you considering this need some good pictures of a stock bumper with the cutout some of you were referring to, check my old thread out: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ked-tails.html

Bosch has such rectangular lights:
Pilot 150 fog lamp and driving lamp.

They have interesting fitting and are installed in AMG -1993 front bumper in stock.

Nice pictures appatula. Those were actually the ones I had in mind. What did you use to get such clean lines when cutting those out?
