My 91 300CE pictures

Been on he for a couple monthes now and figure I would get around to posting some pictures.

Here's my 91 300CE, euro spec'd car. I live in Naples Italy, from San Diego. US Navy doing a tour here and grabbed this car as my driver. I don't know anything about Benz's but am getting there. Car has a few cosmetic blemishes, some pass. side rubbs from the locals and some scratches that I think I can rub out (hopefully only in the clear coat and not the paint). Had to put a drivers side mirror on and need a hood emblem, imagine that. The interior is decent, some problems are drivers door mechanism was broke, scissors sheared when previous owner installed speakers, don't ask, but I fabbed something so it goes up. Drivers side auto belt feed doesn't work, will look at that sometime, dash lights seem awfully dull too. Other then that, not much else.

It does have a idle issue, sometimes 500rpm's, sometimes 750. Think the OVR is going or the wire connections are bad. I have a new relay enroute but if it falls out of its holder (half is broken) it will stall while driving.

Gonna order new plug wires and a cap and rotor for it, but did throw some new plugs in it. Previous owner had it on Syth oil, so will stick with that since it, doesn't seem to leak but seems to use oil, even though theres no smoke or what not.

All in all it runs nice and has good power (180k plus km's on it and the odo sticks), so it should be good for a while.

Maybe I'll see if I can bring it home with me and drop a LS1 in it.

I've got one of those dents too. It was there when I got it, thought it might be from the previous owner hauling around his bmx bike everywhere.

First thing you need to do is paint that grill insert black. It makes a huge difference!!

Other than that looks sweet

We have another rear dent victim!

95 e320...sold the rest
I'm not 100% sure...but from what i've heard from junk yards and my mechanic it's from a bad seal in the trunk.

I have a bad seal (especially with subs) and i have to push in (actually pretty hard) on the lower part by the button to get it to pop open...

maybe that's it?

Second blacking out the grill. Those are some interesting wheels on that car too.

Not sure on the wheels, what was there when I bought it, just assumed that was typical, maybe a euro thing? I looked at the grill and yes, I think it might be better blacked out, might have to stop and grab a can of spray.

Sticks azre the norm here in Europe, finding an auto is very hard. Had one guy I work with go to a car rental place and all they had was an auto, lady asked him, "can you drive an auto"? Totally backwards from the states.

I paid 2500 US for it. Probably could of gotten it cheaper. Lady was asking 3k for it, but it started nicely, she just got a fuel injection tune up, and had brand new tires on it. It also has a *****en stereo system in it.

I was in a hurry for wheels and pickings where slim trying to buy from another american so I kinda jumped on it. If I had to buy from a Italian local I would of had to do a 2 week wait period for them to run the VIn through the system to check for stolen cars etc...

Hopefully I can turn around and sell it for 2k when I leave, if I can't ship it home. You don't see to many this clean around here, most are beat up, and 4 doors, if you can find em.

US Navy must be paying really good The petrol (gas) is above 1 Euro per liter. That's about 6US per gallon.
