Why 245's in the rear of a 7.5"?

Go with a 225 in the rear and front.

215 will pretty much guarantee no rubbing, with 225 you might get some, i think

I have zero rubbing with 225/45/17. I am actually gonna try 235/45/17 once my tires wear out. I recommend 225 though.

Wider is always better but I run 225 on the front too. No on 245 on a 7.5" rim

if you go with that, your fronts and rears will have slightly different diameters/circumferences, i.e. the rears will be slightly larger around than the fronts. also, you wont be able to rotate your tires easily, which doesn't seem worth it if your wheels are not staggered.
