Looking at a W124 coupe
Anyways, watch for leaky valve guide seals and cap/rotor needing to be replaced. I've also had my car throw a MAS unit on me but otherwise it has been fairly failure free.
So just checked it out.
The good:
1. Engine idles well
2. Excellent exterior despite mileage at 204K
3. Fairly clean Interior
4. All interior electronics work
5. Nice smoked tail lights with chrome 18'' AMG wheels
The bad:
1. Power steering screeching and too much play
2. A/C doesn' work
3. Radio is broken
4. Tranny a little rough
The seller is asking $3795. I guess it'll be a good project car.I didn't test drive it since I'm not ready to buy another car just yet. But man the car looked good.

Transmissions require rebuild at anywhere from 200-300k....so it miiiight be on the way out.
Just something to keep in mind.
My dad also used LucasOil power steering fix and it stopped his 500e from leaking and making noise.

I think I can bring it down to $2000 if I really want to. Somebody should buy it restore it.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Transmission.
Those are the ones that scream "walk away" to me. At that price and that milage.
I bought a 94 E320 sedan for $3k with 138k miles. No AC (AZ car) or transmission problems, fewer miles lower price.
Patience will reward you.
>>> False AMG badges
>>> 18 inch wheels, unless they really are AMGs - never fitted as standard
>>> Non-standard exhaust
>>> CE 320 badge - is this genuine? In Europe it isn't. After the 300CE came the E320.
No, it smells wrong to me.
Happy hunting.
