Got new wheels :-) but need spacers

Got my new wheels. There from a 2004 s430. The tires are brand new still got the paint on them. I get them for 370. The tire size are Continental Tires 215/60/R17. I have rubbing on the shock so what size spacer do i need? The backs dont rub do I need spacers for them too? The rim is really close to the shock the tires hit the shock though. Also turn the wheel and it rubs on nothing. Also do I need new lugs?

The back still needs lowered

With 7.5x17 rims the recommended offset for W124's is 42 and yours are 46. So with 4 mm spaceer will be enough (this would be equivalent to 7.5x17 ET 42).
My E 320 came from factory with 7.5x17 ET42 AMG rims and no any problem.
As refer to bolts be sure is length enough to tighten them.

So I take the 46 and minus the spacer. im starting to get this! 7.5 is how wide the rim is? Thinking of putting 5mm washer on (with wheelin air not driving) To make sure the tire clears the shock before I buy them. Ebay best place?
Do I need spacers for the rear? for alignment purposes.
I stuck the lug in my stock wheel and then in my new rim same thread length. So what size lug do I need with a 5 mm spacer? 5mm longer?

- Yes, 7.5 is the rim width (190.5 mm).
- Don't use washers to space, find and appropiate spacer, because the rim must be perfectly seated!!! (You can use them to test how much you space but not to drive!!!!). I don't know where you can buy but there is also the possibility to do it.
- Personally I'll put spacers on four wheels (if rear rims are equal) but don't need to be the same for alignment purposes. (I would like to have additional space in rear wheels to fit chains when snow).
- Bolts: check in the front axle that the remaining length once you put the spacer is enough to screw into the hole. Check before installing: mark the remaining length and screw the bolt without the rim until the mark: you'll see if is enough because the bolt must full the hole (I think this length should be round 20 mm, but I don't remember exactly, check it!!!). Look out with rear axle because a too long bolt could damage parking brake (In the rear axle you can't see if length is enough but you can check if there is any noise/crank when turning).

s class uses a 14mm lug, we use 12... you can get 12mm lugs with the 14mm seats i think, i'm pretty sure places like otisincla sell them...

215x60 tires are on the tall side...I run et35 17x7.5 with 215 50s and love that combination. Hopefully you won't top out under weight and can use your gps for a speedometer.

Seems like all you should need is a 5mm spacer and the right lugs.

Don't skimp on the spacers!!

Wheel Spacers
When purchasing wheel spacers make sure you are getting spacers that are hub centric. This means that the spacers are centered to the wheel hub and are not going to cause a massive amount of vibration because the wheel is out of center. All vehicles produced after 1980 have a wheel that is centered to the hub. A wheel spacer must be able to keep the wheel centered to avoid wheel run out.

The spacers we sell are all hub centric and are guaranteed to keep the wheels tru to the hub center. Many cheap wheel spacers are what we call lug centric and will cause all sorts of vibration and damage to the wheel bearings. Our spacers come in 5mm, 7mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, and 30mm sizes. All wheel spacers come with all the required mounting hardware.

Tires are too tall. Try a 55 or even better, a 50 aspect ratio.

Yeah! rims are cool and good condition.
For the next set of tyres I would recommend you 225/45 R17, It would look even better!!

If you read my post above you might learn something! If those are just for mock-up then thats fine but without hub centric spacers your axles will never be balanced and it usually causes a extremely annoying wobble at highway speeds, IMO its not the safest thing with cut stock springs allready either. Just trying to help you avoid future problems

Upperlink was suppose to have !!!!! on them my keyboards broke hard to type. No offense to anyone!!
Anyways

My Tire barely touches my fender one one spot bought a mm. The tire doesnt touch the fender u cant fit a hair in there. Just the inside edge of fender. Any ideas bend in? I heard u can spacer the fender to widen it?? Everything else clears. Plenty of room inside.

Yeah! there are two original rubbers to install between sheet metal and fender to space the fender.
The problem you have is due to wheel size. Yours 215/60R17 are 10% higher than they should: this means 63 mm higher!!!
You must take also into account than the odometer will show a wrong speed. You'll read a speed 10% higher than before (Beware with radar!!!!!): you can view the relation between rpms and speed to check it.

I think you refer to this picture. As you see there is two rubbers in each fender to install betweeen fender and sheet metal. There are orignal parts but I don't know the OEM's. I think you can take the idea y try with other rubbers to test.
