Part It Out or Sell the W124 Complete/As-Is?
Hey Guys, Finally looking into getting rid of my W124. Came to the conclusion that there's no point in keeping the car around, taking up space when the odds are looking like I will probably not get a chance to start working on it again and I'd rather invest and use my money elsewhere now.
I guess I am posting this thread up as a feeler. I prefer to sell the car as complete with extra parts on hand that I have laying around for the W124. I'd rather have this car go towards another W124 Enthusiast and buy/keep/work on the car or hell use it as a parts car.
Worst comes to worst I will part the car out, but I'm not looking to be stock with a stock W124 sitting in my driveway.
I forgot all the mods I have on the car, but I'll gather up all the information and post them soon. Also, I will post all details about the car as well.
Thanks!
- Chris

You can clearly get more for it by parting it out.
My bottom line would be the value of the parts. So AMG parts+ wheels+ whatever= $5000, then thats what I would price it at. Essentially you throw in the car itself for free.

Yeah... Exterior is decent but the interior is where the car shines. The interior looks almost new and the rear seats are perfect. Kind of hard to see these days with Black interiors.
I just don't have the time to part it out ...

Chris, just get a black 300CE and change over the parts. Come on, i'll help you build it. All you need is some side skirts and you already have an updated hood.
You might want to reconsider the w211 route too, they aren't really DIY.

What are you building? Pm me if you don't wanna say. I'm telling you, I saw a 300ce with an AMG kit, had duck tail, and that thing was a monster. It was sitting 18" staggered amg monoblock 2s off a e55 w210 with a slight rake but slammed on the front.
I'm done building mustangs so i'm gonna start getting more into my w202 and w203. Nothing major, just lowering them and putting wheels.

What w202/w203 do you have?
My father just picked up a white c280 Sport (w202) and I love that thing! The carbon fiber accents are really nice, plus the stance and suspension are amazing. I'm very jealous of how it handles itself.

I got a 98 c230 about a year ago and just a week ago got a 04 c240. I love my w202 too because it's soo easy to mod and work on. I already took half the car apart and did all the maintenance myself. I'm going to get it repainted, lowered, and put some rims but that's about it. I'll post pics on the w202 section once it's done.

if you have a bhg and tranny issues, which is what i gather from this thread, i think neanderthal is pretty close to the mark at $5k... your car is a stunner, i would list it on ebay starting at 5k or so, and take some good pics, including the nice ones from when you first put it all together, and see what happens. cali is a good place to sell a car that needs work, lots of shops out there with people that could buy it and get it running. it would be a shame to see it leave the board, but sometimes you have to let go! it broke my heart to sell some of my old cars that i put so much time into, but c'est la vie....
