Responding to Zorro's new enthusiasm. LOL

Things have been a little quiet, lately.
However, I'm seeing some new cars have turned up on this forum:
-The new owner of a Japan spec AMG
-The 124 owner with transmission problems - now fixed

Saw a pre-facelift coupe on 1st Ave, two days ago, dark brown, with chrome stock wheels, tint, and AMG skirts and Ducktail - very nice!

At 176th/Golden Ears Parkway, a cobalt blue RHD Japan spec AMG, beautiful colour - immaculate!

Any of you lurking out there?


Now that Enzo is about to be reborn, I think we need an area GTG.
Hopefully, we can get several people out for a cruise.

Beautiful cars guys!

190e, can you give me some of the info about the Brembos? I'd be interested in upping the braking power on my CE eventually. Granted, I have the 400e brakes right now but I need moar stopping

I have the R129, SL600 steel and aluminum, Brembo 4-pot calipers, on front, with 334mm Zimmerman cross-drilled discs.

The rears are also, R129 SL600 rears, same as used on the W210 E55, easy to find. Discs are cross-drilled, 300mm.

These are direct bolt-on for my car, and therefore, yours too, I think.

However, you will need larger, corresponding dust shields. Later E500's came with those, but mine is an earlier model so I had to trim the rears.

SL600 front brakes are hard to find and $$$. You might just want a louder horn?

Haha, perhaps a louder horn will have to do :P

I'm just collecting info for the day when I have enough money to actually DO something with my car. Right now, I just want to gather up all the stuff and be sure I understand so that I may do it properly.

I have 4 piston front (not sure on diameter of disk) but I feel that they don't stop enough. Perhaps it is just the nature of the OEM pads and rotors? Would any rotor/pad upgrade really significantly increase my stopping power?

My car is looking rather tired-out at the moment. I've got 3 weeks left of college, and until then I'm broke as a joke!

My rear tires currently have more wire showing than rubber I got a nice dent in the front fender where I hit a post while drifting, need to paint the bodykit cuz it's all peeling..... But if I can at least get some tires I'd be interested in a GTG - just don't take any close-up pics of wolfie!!

just gotta get my enhanced drivers license so they will let me back into the country haha. Anyone have a date in mind for this?

^ If you really have worn them to the point that the inner lining showing, I suggest you cease driving immediately and get them changed. You could get into a serious accident.

Thanks! Rob and I exchange greetings, our kids are in school together... but I've known Marie as a friendly acquaintance for many years, through the arts scene. They usually have pretty nice wheels... on the island they drive SUV and truck, so I'll check if they still have the 190.

GTG's... if it's on the blue moon, that's usually when I'm on the mainland...

93 300TE 4matic, 170K km

Never was a big fan of silver, but there aren't many of these around rust-free and clean with the typical failures (transfer case, transmission, head gasket) recently done. 3 weeks into a long relationship...

New tires: Pirelli P4's; soon to change: euro headlamps, speakers. To be fixed: cruise control (who cares), a/c leaking.

Pics: the pollen dulls cars in minutes right now, and the roads are muddy. Waiting for the right day... just happy having the ultimate tough family car and admiring the nice clean simple lines.

Car looks to be in great shape, a nice example. They are quite elegant in wagon form. I guess it will always be a low-miler now, on the island. I agree, not much use for cruise control. :-)

Never did meet Marie, though I worked with Rob and his brother, Dave, for awhile.

Rob liked my old 190 and bought one for Marie, but I think she preferred to drive the truck and her sister drove the MB most of the time.

If you remember, please say Hi to Rob for me, I've lost touch. He'll know me as Sean from Group Telecom.

If I ever make it over there again, I'll keep an eye out for your car

Yea I just noticed last week when I swapped my diff (for the 6th time ) and havn't driven it since. Hopefully I'll be getting some new tires soon

Our first MB, and I have to say that I'm tickled to have bought a car that listed for nearly $100K (in today's dollars) for 5% of that price, and it's in 80% mint condition... I intend to keep it going for another 300K or more...

And after a few jaunts on the highway, the urge to cross continents is strong, so I think I'll be adding to that mileage. The commute is short, approximately 10 feet, and I have to find excuses to run errands.

First road trip next weekend: off to Tofino, with 5 passengers.

Smile New 124 GTG

Well, the rain will be lessening soon - PNW/BC version of spring/summer is nearing.

How about a local GTG soon? End of May, perhaps?

I know everyone has been busy working on their cars over the winter. It's time we got together.

With the invaluable help and advice from AMGDave, 2Phast, Omegabenz6 and many other forum members, my car is coming together.
It's in the bodyshop right now for repair. Thanks to Rik for the parts I needed.

Salvine installed my 600SL brakes a couple of months ago, I love them!

Stereoinstallerone did a great job on my alarm and keyless entry.

Waiting for some RDMTEK front camber plates from OmegaBenz6, and trying to find a new front bumper to bring that up to snuff.

Looking forward to getting together and going for a drive.

Also, the All German Meet will be happening on June 27th, in Vancouver again.

What do you guys think???
