18x8.5 et40 Carlsson Evo 1/6
I have a chance to pick up a set and just want to confirm these will work well with a 94 E420. Spacers? Tire size/s?
I have the stock suspension at the moment with Sportline in the future.
many thanks

They most likely will rub on the inside of all wheels. Putting 10mm spacers at all corners might work but the front fenders will need to be rolled and most likely flared. See link below for AMG "recommended" installation procedure.

I think they would look great. If you put them on, don't forget to tell us how they fit and post some pictures.

I have the same set (carlsson 1/6 18x8.5 ET 40) it came with 5mm spacers which made it ET35. I wanted it tacked in a bit more so I removed the spacers. There is no rubbing on the struts. But, the rear wheel bolts were hitting the parking brake mechanism so I shorten the rear wheel bolts by 3-5mm.
Also, I rolled the front and rear wheel wells and put spacers in the front fenders. And to avoid rubbing due to shocks bottoming out I put a 20mm spacers between the front shock and the shock mount. I did all this prep with the intention of lowering the car by 1.5-2". My next step is to R&R the shocks, bushings, springs and install camber kit.

Thanks, nice to know they can work but with some work. I'll keep looking for a nice set.
I met the guy selling the Carlssons and he had painted them with what felt like 80 grit sandpaper textured paint that was dead mouse grey!

MBWorld Fanatic!
I didn't want to jinx myself earlier, but I picked up my 3rd set of Carlsson 1/6 18x8 et35 tonight for $500 with 4 michelin 225x40 in pretty nice shape...a vg deal for NJ. (one of my first 8 wheels was repaired, so this makes 2 sets and a few spares)
