Looks like the car did a very good job of protecting the passenger compartment. Hope you're doing okay.

Thanks for the concern, my neck and back are a little sore but other than that everyone was ok

The guy rear ended me doing around 45/50mph while i was stopped in traffic and pushed me into he car ahead of me, the cop, both drivers and tow truck driver said they have never seen that year Mercedes torn up so badly and if i weren't in that car i would have been badly injured or worse, nothing between the front and rear axel was effected other than the transmission dropping, the entire passenger compartment was perfectly fine, none of the glass cracked, just the trunk and front of end crumpled

For as fast as the guy was going when he hit me i hardly felt the impact

Anyway, on to what everyone wants to know.. yes i will be parting out the car once the insurance company is done with it, the wheels are fine and practically brand new and a few of the interior paces are also pretty much brand new, the dash is in perfect condition, i have not had a chance to look at the engine or any of the body parts yet but once i do i will put them up for grabs

The passenger side went off, not the driver side which was actually a good thing, if it had i probably would have had a broken nose

Thanks for all the comments, she will definitely be missed, she was just about to turn 250K on the odo and other than a slipping reverse was still mechanically strong, i will definitely be owning another W124 sometime in the future

Oh no! *** West LA drivers. Glad I took the 101 last night, lol.

But seriously, sorry to see that. She was a very pretty car. I just took some parts off a silver coupe at a junkyard yesterday that had the same thing happen to it as your's. That one had a completely intact passenger compartment as well. Can't wait to see your next one. Keep us all posted.

The car is going to be claimed as a total loss so the insurance company is going to basically buy it from me which means i won't be able to part it out, sorry yall

So sad to see such a beauty go.

Now on to business. If you have your oem rims, you can go and swap them for your aftermarket ones. Don't let those rims go to waste, or else I WILL find them in a junkyard and pay $200 for them

Heh, i had to trash the rims i had on before because all 3 of them were cracked from the damn potholes on Wilshire Blvd, i only have the OEM spare, if you have some extra OEMs lying around you can send them to me and i will go swap them for ya, hehe

I actually preferred the wheel style that i had on the car originally (Moven M11) but i wanted to try the staggered monoblock replicas when i had to replace the movens, they looked decent but it lost a bit of it's edge with the monos

I would love to have found a set of staggered M11 style wheels in 18"

I liked them both...the movin's were less of a clean benz look, but still purty!

You should try to pull together other SoCal members and keep the rims, and other trinkets you'll need for your next one. The rims as mentioned, you can keep the radio, etc. The insurance co will take the car as is when they have it towed away, and you won't get anymore $$ for the extras you've added.

I'd hate to see coupe parts go to waste!

Good luck,
