w124 Offset for 18" 8J+9J or 8.5J+9.5J
Hi! I'm the new W124 owner. May I know what's the best offset for the 124? I'm going to have a set of 18" rim on it. They may be 8J+9J or 8.5J+9.5J. Any advise and about the offset of it? I'm afraid of rubing on it. I want to have the set of rims like these. Thanks!

Do you means even I get the exactly same size and offset as your 19" setup. If the wheel brand differ from yours, the result will not be the same. Right?

lots of cars
You can run anything from a +35 to a +42 offset on the front with the correct tire. On the rear you can run higher offsets with wider wheels. Lowest offset you can do on the rear is probably +30 and highest is +45. That's a 500e so it has different fender dimensions and offsets. On a 300e you can run 18x9 +40 rear and 18x8 +35 front.

- roll rear fender : this might be different result
- additional front stopper bilstein
- setting to 0.1/3 minus rear chamber

Declan, I'm amazed you got those carlssons to fit your 230e. I'm running the same wheels on my 500e and I still get rubbing in back! What size tires are you using? I have 275/30 in back.
The rubbing is on the inner wheel well, so I may be able to adjust the toe and fix it. My 285 tires would rub inside and out. :-/

i'll think it will amazed to having Carlsson 1/6 Evo different wide inside 500E, not significant lose of power, isn't it?

@kereon:
to had a smooth drive 18" will be great, but if the road of ur daily route was always flat & support then go for 19", others factor is the cost of the tire price it self

Thanks Declan. I wanna go for 19". But I'm not really sure if I got 8.5J+9.5J, ET35 at front and ET40 at Rear. Is it workable? I don't mind roll the fender.
