Unhappy Diagnosis... WTF???

So I bought my 300e from a guy late last year and when I first got the car it was fine, but about 6 months in and the ignition switch broke, so I fixed that but now 1. the car won't start in park, I have to shift it to neutral to start it so I assume its the neutral safety switch and 2. after a certain amount of starts the car won't turn over, so I have to hook it up to a battery charger or jump it to get it going. I was wondering if these problems would be stemming from one source, or if they are 2 separate issues. oh btw, I replaced the spark plugs, put in a new battery, and new ignition wires.. HELP ME PLEASSSEEE

take it to a knowledgable mechanic and have him look it over, throwing money
at it makes no sense.

Why take it to someone and throw the money at them?

First get the NSS replaced. Common issue and I don't know of any other reason why it would be doing that...gotta be the NSS.

As far as the battery issue, get a DMM and check the battery is charging when the car is running, and holds the charge when the car is switched off. If the battery is draining with the car off, something is draining it. Pull 1/2 the fuses in the fuse box and check back the next morning to see if the drain stopped. If not, pull the other 1/2 and try to figure out where the drain is coming from.

I'm not the kind of guy to give in and take MY car to a dealership, not without trying to fix the problem myself.. It's a learning process that takes time and effort.. and with the age of the car it was about time to replace those parts anyways.. and many other parts too

Good idea with the fuses. One more question though, is it true that the NSS can be accessed by removing the panel by the gear shift? or do i have to go under the car? any good repair manuals i should look into?

I'm sure you can do it yourself and save the bucks....there is plenty of information and help from members on this site...however, I don't know where in SoCal (I live all over Socal) but Danny *******i @ Desert Imports in Palm Springs is by far the best mechanic I have ever come in contact with. Anything I can't do (and I have access to all the lifts and tools I could ever need at my school) goes to him and he's real...will tell you what needs to be done, what can wait, and what can be ignored because it's a waste of money to fix.....Just so ya know.

So on my quest to get this issue fixed I discovered that my car is NOT a 1990. Its been registered with the DMV as a 1990 but it is actually a 1993.. how in the world could that happen?

Can the NSS drain the battery? because I've been getting some pretty bad battery drains after changing the starter.. even after replacing my fuses.
