Word of advice, n00b? If you are going to make fun of someone on a forum, at least spell correctly.

It's HAUL.

Those look like directional tires that are placed on incorrectly. Doesn't surprise me though...

Put the OEM grill back on (well, painted black of course)...I think I prefer it over the S600 style. I was also always concerned about the radiator because its flimsy plastic vs wood and I am sure anything picked up on the freeway @ 70mph would plow through that plastic and do some serious damage.

Also...

Seeing as my wheels are only 16", do you think I would have any rubbing issues with a 1-1.3" drop?

OEM grill in black looks beautiful! It looks especially good on your black car!

I think the flimsy S600 style grills have no business being on a W124. They might look good in pictures, but I think they stink when you actually see one in person. I tried one too, but it was such a piece of junk I took it right back off.

I also noticed that a lot more water was getting into my engine area, when I washed my car one time with the S600 grill still mounted. I figured lots of other stuff would likely get in too, so that was another good reason to get that thing off my car. The OEM grill really does a nice job of protecting the radiator and it looks very good when painted black.

Regarding the 16” wheels and a 1.3inch drop, that is exactly what I have with my Eibach prokit springs, Bilstein Sport shocks and 16” AMG Aero I wheels. I don’t have rubbing issues with my 16” wheels, but it all depends on the width and offset of the wheels and then the tire selection. My 16” wheels are 7.5” wide with an ET37 offset. The perfect range for the offset on a 7.5” wheel seems to be ET42 to ETE35. With ET42 I think you can likely fit the largest tires without rubbing on the outside of the fenders, but ET35 seems to be the more common offset and keeps the wheels aligned a little more outboard for a nice wide stance. On a 16” wheel, the recommended tire size is 205/55/16, which just happens to be the size that came on the last iteration of the C-Class cars.

Since this is a picture thread, here is mine with a black grill.
