Yes, these are replicas. I got them used, forgot what name they actually have. But it is 8,5"x18" infront and 9,5"x18" at the rear, ET35 all over.

I have actually seen these AMG replicas with even bigger lips, where the 8,5" have bigger lip than my 9,5". They have some more curve to the center I believe, I know a dealer in Norway who had a campaign on these rims earlier this year. But I am not sure where they are produced..

He means if you are gonna keep the hood star emblem like it is or if you are gonna replace it with the flat type emblem. Like a lid covering the place where the hood star sticks up.. And they can have any logo on them.. AMG, Brabus, Wald, Mercedes Benz or whatever..

I personally think the flat type would look pretty cool together with that stealth looking grill, which I am seriously thinking of getting for my car also.. I think your car looks awesome by the way.

I would really like to see how that grill would look on a more highly modded car, like Enzo. It looks a little out of place with the two-tone, and small wheels on your car okartis. Not bad though!

For the most part though, call me old school, but I think the stock grill looks best. I have an avantgard style grill for sale if anyone wants it. $40 shipped to the lower 48, with chrome surround.

rivcal4life, I want to agree with You - OEM style is the best. But in this case, I think, stock grill is uggly and every second w124 owner installed avantgard style grill on the car. I wanted something different and found this grill on ebay.de.
Wheels - of course, too small. It's the first season for this car in my hands.
Now, prepare for spring:
- all car must be repaint;
- smoke front lights;
- widened rear archs;
- AMG GEN I bumpers (bought some time ago);
- AMG three pieces rear boot spoiler;
- lowered springs ~ 40-60mm;
- R17 widened steelies, yes-yes, not AMG, Brabus etc.wheels, but widened steel wheels. As the base - Honda CR-V original steel wheels, because MB haven't this stuff.

What did you search on ebay.de to find that grille? I'm interested.

Thanks,
Brett

Changed the picture to a brighter one, hopefully now you may see that it is not supposed to be a Datsun Maxima..

This is actually the plans for my own car, and just had to play some with okartis' picture because it was such a good photo of that exact grill I want for my car. I allready have the black headlights new and still in the box, same with the black front turnsignal lights and the fog lenses for the Wald kit. Facelift hood is ready for paint, but still need facelift trunk lid and Wald kit before my car and all other parts get the gloss black paint.

Hopefully I will get there some time during the coming summer.

Your grill is the first of it's kind that I have seen, and I am actually interested in it. I do not know how it would look in person, so I am withholding judgment, but it does photograph well. I do think however, and this is only my own person opinion/preference, that the 86-93 front end does look generally better. I am partially biased, but I did consider the facelift on my 300e. After much consideration, I decided against it. On E500's, the fenders do help balance the facelift, and make it look better in my humble opinion. I would really like to know if they make that style grill for the pre-facelift cars.

Very nice looking rendering you have there! I actually love the idea of the wheels. MB, does make a set, and I will be able to get you a part number as soon as 500ecstasy starts working again. The wheels are R129 17" wheels that another member uses for drag radials.

If you do plan on going with a Gen 1, I think that is even more reason to revert to the old style front end. Just a suggestion though! You should start your own thread man! I would like to follow your progress.

EDIT: Found the part number for the steel wheels: 129 400 02 02

Thank you google!

Thanks, rivcal4life, for an information.., but I found 16". In this case, I need 17", I think it would be better.. Therefore I look up for another manufactured wheels, I found Honda's R17. 5*114.3. I hope I resolve the problem with spaces between screws..

My mistake, sorry. The person I got that part number from did not list the size, so I tried reading the tire size in the photo. I thought it was 245/XX/17! haha

Woo hoo, just picked up my first W124! She's a 1994 e320, black and grey on black, 185k miles and drove from minneapolis to chicago with a smooth fervor. I'm officially in love.
