Please HELP! Car feels like it's dying.

This started a while ago. Under acceleration the car would have a small burp. Like the fuel got cut off for a split second.

In the past week it had gotten a lot worst. It all depends on how I press the accelerator. If I press it very very gently and let the car accelerate slowly I don't feel anything.

But if I press the gas any more than just a tiny bit the car start stuttering. I have the accelerator pressed but it feel like it is running out of gas.

Is it my transmission, fuel filter, injectors. Why does it not happen when I drive extremely slow and gentile? Has anyone else hast is problem. I have a 95 E320 coupe. Thanks.

Depends on the day
Replace the fuel filter.

I had the EXACT same scenario this past week. I forgot to replace my fuel filter on schedule and it resulted in these symptoms.

Dealer wants $225 the filter costs $31. Does anyone know of a DIY guide for fuel filter replacement? Thanks!

I changed the fuel filter nothing much changed other than now the car backfires really loud all the time. I change it myself but I don't see any leaks I think I did a pretty good job. What is my next step?

Changed the plugs and the wiring for $200 myself. Problem solved.

Everywhere you go you are lied to if it has to do with a used car.

Fuel filter was $30. So total $230 vs $630 or $807.

Fuel filter is literally one of the easiest DIY jobs next to an oil change. 2HRS of labor to replace it at the stealer is a JOKE. Wow.

did my daughter's today

Fuel filter - hers was the threaded fitment type, took less than 20 minutes from start of job to driving again. Little bit of gas on me, but no big deal.

next to the gas tank

there is a protective cover -10mm nuts on it. Remove them and you should see the filter and fuel pump(s)
