W124 280E 6door limousine

hi ppl!

someone is selling me a 1990 280E (6cyl) 6 door limousine, it only has 40,000kms or around 26,000miles since new. anything that i should be in a look out for????

how should i inspect the engine, the auto transmission, airconditioning, suspension?????

please help, as this limo will b used for business and not pleasure. thanks.

With this low milage you would not expect a lot of wear. But check the A/C whether it functions properly, since leaks in the system are most expensive to fix. Auto. transmission shall be looked at (I would recommend have a professional look at it), especially since the limo is much heavier than the sedan. Oil leaks may not be existant, but if so look for the head gasket, the front cover and the drive shaft seals. Power steering reservoir and pump shall be dry and clean (no fluid leaking)

In addition to Mr. Bambergs solid recommendations....I'm assuming this limo has the self-levelling suspension...if it does; drive the car over some bumps...if you hear a clunk in the rear end...the N2 gas cells are shot...maybe 3-400 US $ to fix them. Very important to change the fluid on that system every 2-3 years regardless of use.

The rear hydro-shocks are long lived though, luckily, because they are quite expensive, at least here in the USA.

Post a pic if you can. I'm sure we'd all like to see it.

08 Lexus GS350 AWD. 08 Lexus RX350 AWD - wife's. 94 MBZ E320 - still have it.
May be it's none of my business, but WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH A 6 DOOR LIMO?

the traffic is so freaking terrible in philippines my uncle's 1985 nissan maxima only has 50 000 km's and its their daily driver.
