What do you think of my 320 cab?
Been reading you guys thread for 1 month and finally decided to buy a cab 1993 75K miles. Love the car. Yesterday I bought 17" AMG 235 & 245/45. from 15"(pic) love the look, but the gap is too wide. I do not want to spoil the ride. I saw many threads of you guys that did spring and shock change. I am going to see if I can do pad change - Any ideas on OEM +3? Any of you just change the springs? how was the ride?
Thanks,
Isaac
Thanks,
Isaac

W124's
My suggestion is to get springs as well shocks. If you just get springs, your ride will plain suck and be the bumpiest ride ever. Nice car none the less, are you goign to work on the appearance...the minor stuff like lighting, grill and what not.

Upgrade to 1193 320 Cab
Thanks - Yes - car is going in on monday for full modification to the 95 lights, hood, removal of wipers, and clear sidemarker (may spray to match rear). As well installing sound system Alpine avi 300 7" monitor. I love this car more than my sl55 with full lorinser kit - such a classic. The shocks will damage ride, so I really am warry of the change - but may change my mind.

Mission Accomplised!!
That W124 is complete now. The 1995 E320 conversion makes a huge difference!
Now remove the upright star, and add the flat hood badge. Also, debadge the rear emblems to give it a cleaner look (if you haven't already done so).
Keep up the nice work, and if you ever come to Miami, I want a ride in the SL55.

Thanks for your comments.
Thanx guys. Mike, I have already debadged, but I must say I love the star! I have never had one in any of my Mercedes. I Included a pic of my SL55, since you seemed to like it. I put some the pieces of the Lorinser kit that I liked - rear wing side skirt and 20" wheels. Far to drive to Miami - but if you are ever in LA let me know. NExt project is the interior sound. IPOD! any suggestions - also looking for a remote access that i can use with the Mercedes key but have not found any on any of the sites. They are all with ugly remote.

You need to finish off the '95 update by adding the boot filler panel around your license plate. Its OEM and cheap too ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Nice ride BTW... what do those go for in the US? They are pretty big money for a 10+ year old car over here - like $18k for a real good 'un.

The update looks great. I'd recommend that you put on No. 1 pads and keep the stock springs. If you find the ride too soft than buy a set of Bilstein's.

Upgrade to E320 Cab
Thank you for all your recommendations. It is very much appreciated. The back has now been lowered, and it looks much better - I will post when it stops raining. My rear left however touches on uphills in corners. They tried Bringing it back in but it still rubs so now they will actually cut the lip not roll it.

No cutting please
Don’t cut your beautiful car.
There must be another solution. Did you consider installing slightly narrower tires? The 225/45/17 is a great upgrade. I don’t think you really have to go all the way to 235 and 245 to have an aggressive look. Cutting your beautiful car seems like a drastic solution to me. ![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
I only have 205/55/16
