Wheels off my W124 that have different hole depth

Hi, just getting ready to paint my wheels and install a new set of tires and I noticed that one wheel (gullideckel) that has a shallower seat than the other three. In other words the wheel bolt heads sit down in the hole on three and this one the bolt head sits flush with the wheel, so the only conclusion is this one wheel is from a different car perhaps? My car is a 1987 300D. The odd one almost looks like there is an insert in the hole but not sure. Can anyone explain? Are these inserts?

It's probably a different wheel than your other 3. Compare ET# on back.

I know it is different, why is it different. What would it be off of?

What are the ET numbers from the first 3, and this one?
I'm betting, you have 3 newer and one older style W124 wheel, or possibly ones from a different model.
ET numbers will tell the difference.

To me it looks like a sleeve that's been dislocated. What do the holes look like from the wheel's backside? Possibly these sleeves protect the wheel from damage when torquing the lug bolts(?).

He simply has mismatched wheels.
There were several variations of 15 inch Guilledeckels

I guess I missed the point of the OP's question. I thought he was saying on one wheel, one of the lug bolt holes is shallow compared to the other 4 holes. Not that all 5 holes on one wheel are more shallow than all 5 holes on the other 3 wheels.

The picture shows that as well. One lug hole is shallower then the next one. If this is the case the seat got dislodged for some reason. Not sure how that happened.
But if it is that all lug holes for that wheel is shallow, that would be a 190E rim with a 49mm ET instead of 48mm and the rim width would be 6" instead of 6.5".
And it would have the 201 part number in the back. I doubt any of this is true though, I think it is just the seat got dislodged.

Early W124 had et49 wheels. They changed to et48 about 1990. They used different bolts.

Check your spare, you may have a 4th matching there

I am not sure what is the history, my car is an 87, it has 3 ET48’s, two I can clearly read the number but one I don’t see it anywhere, the odd wheel is an ET49, so I assumed that was the odd one. So I dug out the spare and it is a 49, from that I can guess it is most likely the original and the 3 must have been swapped at some point. The car is 38 so anything could have happened in that time span.

Maybe, a previous owner mounted a pair of winters on the ET48'S, and somehow those wheels were retained.
These wheels, in either offset, are easy to source and cheap
