Calipers: To paint or not to paint
Hi, everyone.
I attached the pic of my 01 E320 with the newer rims and now that my brakes are visible -- and yes, the drilled rotors will be on soon, with new closeups to follow -- I'm considering painting the calipers. Since my car is brilliant silver and the high-heat paint color choices are fairly limited, I'm considering simply staying black or charcoal (although if they made body color in a high heat, I think that would look great). Too, if I could find a close match for the blue in the center caps/hood ornament (laurel wreath) I think that would look awesome.
I've painted calipers before so I know it's not the easiest of tasks, but this would be the time to do it since it will be all apart.
It's purely cosmetic, so I'm simply openly soliciting your opinions on (1) whether I should do it at all and (2) if so, what color?
Thanks in advance, and enjoy the ride.
Greg

I painted mine black a few months ago and are still in good condition. Obviously the quality isn't powedercoat quality but it does the trick for the cost of a can of high temp engine block paint.I'll post pics later when I get a chance.

I think it's called "G2" that makes a high heat resistant caliper paint that is supposed to last a while. If you go to www.performanceproducts.com you will see it there in a variety of colors. Of course if you want to spend the money and do it right you should powder coat but the caliper paint is a decent cheap way to go that lasts a while. Good luck and posts some pics. when it's done.

I painted mine yellow. Looks great with silver car. My next choice would be black. People either LOVE or HATE my yellow calipers. Red is OK, but everyone does red. Either way, good luck!
