Can someone please post something that shows this recall exists and exactly what it entails. My dealer claims no such recall exists

I followed the link above for my 02 430. This is just too much, but they won't give details unless you pay them. Is this genuine?

I have the same question. Just as much info on my 01 430 but I don't understand the difference between a recall and a service bulletin and what responsibility the manufacture has???

service bulletins are not mandated fixes. can be done for free but you can
also end up paying, espec if out of warranty.

service campaign and/or recalls are federally required fixes...at their expenese
even if out of warranty

i can get you details of recall/tech bulletins free but will only do a couple .
identify yr/mk/model/engine/ and bull #

So the door frame corrosion is a recall that means the dealer has to fix it even if the car has no warranty?

the answer should be 'yes' but i'm unable to lay my hands on my notes and
the reference I've seen. so i Googled it (and you can as well)....if you want
to explore further.

when i got my other car's TSBs or Recalls fixed, they put a little sticker in the engine bay showing proof of correction. I was wondering how to find out if the TSB or Recall was fixed on a Benz. I just got the car used with 44k its an 02 e320 and was wondering if I need to take care of any TSB or recalls.

Most of the links here are now dead. Can anyone hook me up with the details?

Does anyone have more detail on the bulletin:
S-49_10-08 FEB 04 Exhaust System - Rattling/Hissing/Humming Noises

I drive a 1999 E280 and my exhaust sounds like it is a sports one...and a cheap one at that, already had the dealer replace one of the cats and the erst of the exhaust....should be super quiet but it is not. Especially around 3000 rpm's it drones like hell and at hoigher speeds my benz sounds like a volgswagen gti with noisy pipe...... Maybe something in the way the exhaust is suspended?
