Why would you want to do that?

There's only one on the left side so people behind you don't think you're stepping on the brakes!

I connected my other one up and installed lower wattage bulbs so that they don't look like the brake lights are stuck on.

just run a single wire from the positive lead on the side that works to the other side. Make sure that you use some sandpaper and scuff up the surface as the solder won't adhere without doing so. This works very well for tailgaters or people acting a fool :v

You need to remove the plastic tab covering the socket opening and secure an additional bulb socket as there is not one there.

look for it player.... strip one end of the wire and touch it to the lead that you think would be the positive lead for that 2nd bulb socket. Look at how the other "pins" leads run and you should be able to recognize which is the ground and which is not. At the harness you'll see every lead with a wire going to it I believe except 1, from what I remember.

Sorry man, but I don't have a damn clue - in your prior post you stated you had the parts to do this. I don't know how what else you need and are referring to.

I had a Volvo that had 2 also. I also think the single bulb looks very odd.

The older Volvos did have 2 rear fog lights but that was changed to the single side in the 1980s. As stated, one issue was that you couldn't tell the difference between the rear fogs and the brake lights. Another issue is that you couldn't judge the distance to the car ahead as easily as when you can see the bright fog on one side and the dim tail light on the other side.

well with the help of this thread i managed to pull it off....total parts cost $6.00

bulb=3.00
wire=3.00
pin X2= free
socket for bulb= free

got the pin and socket from the dealer for free. just had to sweet talk the 300lb guy for a bit lol. no really nice guy at the parts counter....

i am extreamly happy because this is my first "real" mod where i had to get my hands dirty and actually think about what i was doing....i get a nice high doing work myself be it changing a light bulb or doing an engine swap.

and here is all said and done....

heh, I just discovered this the other day while I was repairing the front fog (snapped wire due to corrosion).

In the UK its perfectly normal for executive cars to have 2 fogs on the back, and a whacking great Mercedes with only 1 fog just looks plain silly when they're being used.

So all thats needed is the +ve lead then? Great, thats a 5 minute job for me tomorrow I'm presuming that the fuses don't need changing at all.

4 wheeled car.
Oh god.... if I am ever stuck behind you on a clear night, and you have those two freakign things on, I will run you off the road. Seriously, people, learn..... Why is there a fog light in the back? It's for dense fog. When you got dense fog, people won't see you as they come up behind you. So, what to do? Oh I know, let's have a very high intensity light bulb be on, brighter than a brakelight. But wait, if we put two, people are gonna think I'm braking. Ok let's only put one, so they know. Oh and let's make it the rule in all European cars said Europe.

So there you have it, a single bulb in the back, for fog purposes, only to be used, well, in the fog. Why not two? Because that's not the intelligent thing to do.

And I DO HOPE you don't use it when there is no fog.

steps off soap box.
