Recommendations/Opinions needed. How to make my car Handle like a BMW? (or close to
QUESTION:
Recommendations/Opinions needed. How to make my car Handle like a BMW? (or close to it) or at least minimize the "floating feeling" during cornering and 75mph & up speeds?
CURRENT STAT:
Car = 2001 w210 430
has lowered eibach springs, but still has stock suspensions.
GOAL:
What additional changes do i need to do to make my car handle like a BMW? (or close to it)
(i know, i know its not a BMW & it's not suppose to drive like one)
THE BUMMER:
My wife's X5 4.4 (w/ sport package) even handles better than my car! granted mine didn't come with a sport package; but still....my car is lower than the x5 (obviously) especially with the eibach springs and still that doesn't help.
This is why I'm presenting you guys this question. Hopefully one of you guys know what i need to do to make my car at least drive/handle like a BMW (or even close to it)

The obvious stuff (beyond the sport springs you have)
1) Sport Shocks
2) Thicker sway bars
3) Sportier Alignment
4) Misc other (wheel+tires, bushings, etc)
And of course, the difficult part is to make sure all these components are tuned to work in concert. You could call/research what renntech/brabus/etc do to make these cars handle better.

I have the exact same car ( 01 e430) as well as an m3, and frankly I don't think it's possible to get the E to handle as well. They're very different cars, and each has attributes worth appreciating. If you want a car that handles like its on rails get a bmw. If you want a car that drives solidly in ANY type of weather and still makes you feel great even after 6 hours at the wheel, get an e-class. Don't waste your money trying to make your car something it can't be.

the eibach springs aren't stiff enough.. they are for lowering and comfort... if you want to handle get h&rs and bilstien sport shocks, my e320 handled great with this.. also what tires are you running? it also had 19 inch tires....

Okay.... X5 = all wheel drive sprot package = lowered suspennsion stiffer springs and shocks.
Merc E = You need good tires, sway bars, and coilovers or cupkit & then remove all extra parts of the car you dont need. haha
Merc = Classy Timeless cruise mobile
BMW = Modern Sporty mobile, even my friends non sport 530i w/bubble tires handles better than my car, i got Bilstein Sports, H&R Sprt springs, and street tires.
Off the bat these cars already have bad sport genes.......
