But I suggest that you get the Bridgestone Turanza LS-H or Continental ContiProContact instead. Both of those tires are better than the Michelins, and they're much cheaper (at least a Tire Rack).
Check the Tire Rack website and read their surveys for grand touring all-season tires.
Here is a road test comparing the Michelin MXV4, Bridgestone Truanza LS-H and the Continental ContiProContact:

I haven't had them on long, about 1500 miles, but I really like these. They are quiet, and handle well on wet and dry roads.
Lastly, Daimler used to recommend a certain Goodyear tire for my year, some type of no longer available Eagle; they DO still make the Eagle line though. I think those are probably worth a look too; I've never had them on the Benz, but my Camry/Eagle GT HR combo has been nice.
Hope this helps,
Musikmann

I somehow found Michelin last forever, nope, not exactly in the good way. Rubber seems to lose its traction after one year, even though they looks no-wear.
Conti just seems to wear out so fast, but maintain good traction on my previous W124C
Yes, I also been through Pirelli, they are great in dry pavement, but slippery sucker in the snow.
Feb 2005, before the snow storm, I ordered set of Kumho ECSTA ASX 93W, figure I just going to use it for the winter. (hell, it was only $65 a pieces for all season performance)
Out of surprise, I still have them on my E420 and I ditched the Pirelli.
