Gonna change out my sparkplugs, any recommendations??

I read a few negative threads regarding the bosch platinums, which are currently in my car. What plugs are you guys running?? What are the factory plugs??

I have the NGK Iridium IX. They work well and were cheaper than the OEM plug, which is the Bosch Platinum.

You probably read negative commments about the Bosch Platinum+4, which is an entirely different plug than the Bosch Platinum.

I'm just gonna run a standard plug that is designed for this car and see how it performs. Maybe just a standard autolite or something. I'm not paying no $11 a plug when i can pay $3 a plug that does the same thing. I'll let everyone know the results.

Can you get a 100k mile interval out of a conventional plug?

I figured you may need at least a Platinum plug for 100K intervals.

Check your manual and stay with your OEM plugs... everything else is not worth it

stick with oem
unless you do some really hardcore track time, changing to different plugs and wires is a waste of money

Your E430 came stock with Bosch Platinums. I just changed mine out a couple weeks back for the 1st time at 50k ('01 430) and plats were in there.

The OEM part # has been superseded with a new # .... they're only $7 a plug here:

http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com...art=Spark+Plug

I've noticed a 2mpg increase and much more pep at lower RPM's since they were changed. It's a helluva job changing 16 plugs. Good Luck.

Make sure you have gloves, a 17 or 18mm open end wrench, dielectric grease and some anti-seize before you begin.
