W210 Power Steering

This is how it's done on a Toyota/Lexus.

The theory is to disconnect the fluid return line (to the reservoir) and let the old fluid flow out while the new fluid is being added to the system.

P/S reservoir and drain plug location.
There's usually labels on containers/caps on the reservoirs but I don't know where the reservoir for the P/S fluid is on the W210 E320. Where would it be located? I also need the location of the drain plug. Thank you. I don't want to put it in the wrong place or drain the wrong thing.

I would recommend MB Power Driving (Steering) Fluid because there are a few different options and they state in the manual use MB Recommended Fluid. They are around 15$/qt of this fluid but you can rest easy knowing the fact that it's safe to use in your car. Avg. needed to refill your power steering reservior and box about 1liter. Just did my flush yesterday in my shop hehe

1996 E320
Folks, I've got the 1996 E320 Elegance, and just topped up the fluid level for my power steering system with the MB oil, after I heard the whining sound associated with a low fluid level in the system - took about 150ml.
I've read in the manual that there's a warning in the multifunction display for "oil level of level control system and steering too low". I was hoping this may have come on prior to the noise occuring, but it did not.
It does indicate in the manual that this light applies to vehicles with the level control system.
How can I determine if my car actually has this system, or if the warning light really should have come on?
Cheers

When I turn my steering wheel now it whines really bad and is a bit difficult to turn...
Is the power steering needing to be flushed or whatever needs to be done, be done?
I'm not going to lie to you guys but I was doing donuts in a parking lot to check out my new springs and i heard a big "CLACK" and then right after that It was extremely difficult to turn the steering... after a good 30 minutes it was fine... just a bit difficult to turn.
So I'm a big dummy
Do you guys know what mightve happened? Or what mightve snapped or anything associated with that?
Thanks. Any input would be great!

the wagons have the self leveling shocks.
benZO check the steering rackyou may have snapped something. Also check all suspension bushings and your shock perches.Do so before you drive it anymore,if the shock perches failed you will have bigger problems if they let go completely
