ML320, Looking for my S4
Ugh, problems.......
Well, to start off I been getting this squeek from my left front brake due to a warped rotor, any ideas how? Secondly i was fooling around with my intake showing it off to some friends and my intake BACKFIRED!!! MY INTAKE BACKFIRED!!! Anyway i drive it for a while no problems, so i go back to my neighborhood and i'm stoped behind some guy parking, Foot on the brake and i cant keep the engine idle. Its jerking as if i'm steping on the gas, RPM's moving from 600-800 with out my foot on the gas. I try to duplicate the problem, nothing. Anyway Now i'm cleaning my intake filter for good mesure. Any idea's, cuz i'm stumped.

MAS - Mass Air Sensor is the main problems with mercedes and intakes......doing anything with the intake will give you this problem.....i've heard it by serveral people that have had custom intakes or other brands or what not......

when you say you "checked" it, please don't tell me you just looked at it and thought it was good. When it is broken, or messed up, it doesn't look any different lol. The only real way to check if its bad is to take it to get diagnosed. Also, a check engine light doesn't have to come on when a MAF sensor is bad. The MAF would seem to be the easiest explanation for your problems since you have an aftermarket intake. Get it diagnosed, if mercedes says it's the maf, then buy an OEM maf off ebay for $100 or so.

you can try having the local autoshop resurface the rotors and see if it will help, otherwise I'd just get new rotors. Also, dunno if you knew, never ever wash the car right after you drove it cause when cold water comes into contact with a hot rotor, it may warp it (reason why I never bring my car to a carwash place).

It does sound like a manifold (vacuum) leak. A backfire through the intake can easily blow off a vacuum line or other vacuum connection which would cause a higher, rough idle.
