E320 - Brake Pedal - Sport Modification?

I recently bought a '99 320 4-matic and while she's beautiful on the outside after some changes there is one thing that keeps me from being able to drive her aggresively. The stock brake pedal sits higher than the gas thus requiring me to completely shift my leg over and then the first inch of brake has no impact on the car.

Anyone have success with a sport modification to change out the brake/ gas pedals and the actual pedal shafts to put them closer to the floor and at the same height?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Over 40 people have viewed this and have no advice? Has anyone at least had the same issue or had to make modifications to the brakes??

Dude, it's a automatic transmission, 6 cylinder, mid-sized, all-wheel drive tank. You aren't gonna be able to mod it or sling this thing around like Civics or GTIs. It's not a sports car.

Heel-toe action in a normally aspirated automatic? Why? If it's that important, just use your left foot to brake.

I would guess that modding the brakes will probably cause more problems than it's worth.

BTW, all of the views are from people wondering what the heck you are talking about (myself included).

Cool heel and toe driving

best left to us real race car drivers,I completely agree with all above. You can get as aggressive with this 3800 lb luxo as you want, and never need heel/toe driving even in sport shift mode....BTW have fun wrapping it around your first tel pole.
ohlord

To the guys that don't know what hes talking about,h/t is used to keep the revs up while downshifting a manual trans for quick entry and exit from sharp turns requiring braking and shifting down,in order to not leave your power band.he's probably to uncoordinated to learn how anyway!
get a race car!

There's probably not much you can do about the uneven pedal height, but you can improve the initial brake pedal feel and bite by installing braided stainless steel brake lines at all corners.

e350cdi estate
I am in agreement with the original post. I have a 2012 E350 CDI estate. It too has a brake pedal which is higher than the throttle. Very uncomfortable. Nothing to do with toe and heel or driving fast or aggressively.... It is obvious that it is easier for your foot to fall onto the brake pedal when releasing the throttle rather than having to move your whole leg upwards and then down. Very difficult to get a comfortable seat position to suit both the throttle and the brake. I had a w124 mercedes estate before and this was much much much better.

Ya I made a Modification, I bought a Corvette.
As others im sure have said, its a cruiser, use it as such. And if you really do need to mod the brake pedal, remove it and mod it as needed or retrofit another pedal assembly.
