My First Ride - Pics!
So even though I only have a permit at the moment (road test on the second of august) I just got my first car. Well I've had it for a few weeks but the interior and exterior and only beginning to become picture worth. My paps spotted this 99' E300 TurboDiesel sitting under a tree next to a house he was roofing. A week later and a little bit of research and the car was sitting in my driveway for 5300$. The car has 130,000 miles and came with the premium sound, sunroof and i absolutely love it. We put almost 2000$ into it over the next two weeks fixing the read window motor/exhaust/tune-up. I say we because this is the only cost i split with my dad. Other wise I'll admit i was set up nicely! The car runs like a dream and is in near mint condition with only a few quirks.
-crack in the front bumper/broken foglight mount (dads fixing it because he busted it up on a raccoon the day after we got the car)
-the drivers side headrest motor doesn't work
-there's a weird sound at exactly 1500rpm
-the steering wheel makes a little noise
-the right front wheel is scraped to sh*t (old man driver from florida was the only owner of the car and he liked to hit curbs)
-few dings on the roof and hood (presumably from acorns from the tree)
The car was filthy when i first got it but leather product, scrub brushes, claybar and wax and it's looking beautiful. Tell me what you think!

2001 E320 RWD - Brilliant Silver/Ash: 100,000+
Looks pretty clean, congratulations! Even though it needed some work, I think you got a good price on it. 130,000 is nothing for a diesel if it has been reasonably well maintained, and I'll bet it has because of the appearance of the rest of the car (especially the interior).
Ad far as that bad right front wheel, those are the same wheels I have on my car and they are as common as dirt; you can buy a decent used one for as little as $100. Try looking on eBay for that.
The steering wheel noise is a common and well-documented issue (MB issued a couple of technical service bulletins on that). The proper fix is to remove the rack and pinion and replace a gasket, pretty expensive if you can't do it yourself. Mercedes steel is way too strong to dent from acorns, my guess is that is hail damage.

good luck! Where you from in N.Y. ?
check those spring perches on the front end E series around that year are prone to rust failures, and having grown up in Elmont,I remember the salted roads in winter and the rust issues.Give them a good looking over.

I'm sorry but I can't just yell yoo whoo, great deal, congrats and all that. I know getting your first car is a big deal and you got a prestigious brand car. BUT, you got a car that is going to be a maintenance nightmare. It'll be one thing afer the other. You'll go broke trying to maintain it. My first car needed some repairing too but at least I could fix something and enjoy driving it without constantly fixing on it. I hope you have a job or rich parents.

Kade: I took my floormats out for the pictures just to show off the now shiny carpet. I wished my original floor mats cleaned well. Thanks for the link I hope to order some nice soft stock floor mats for the summer and use my originals for winter. Unfortunately I don't think that'll happen anytime soon because it's going to take a few days of roofing with my paps to finish paying off the repairs and get a nice cd changer/bracket. CD changer takes priority over floors mats because a kids got to have his music and I can't stand another minute of FM transmitter static.

Your tail lights look like they have gone through a war. I have a set if you want them. Free. You just have to pick them up. Where in NY are you located.

WoW! Congratulations. Looks to be a very clean car. I too think you got a decent deal as the diesels have become more in demand.

do NOT meet up with this guy, even with teh free hookup. after you meet him, you will get hooked and your car will have:
19" AMG rims
full modified suspension
new headlights
AMG bodykit
tint
exhaust
brembo brakes
and this is just the beginning!
