200 E430 Sport Check Engine Light

I have an 2000 E430 Sport with the check engine light on. The results from the emission test are:

P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction Bank 1
P0173 Fuel Trim Malfunction Bank 1

what should i do to correct this-most research has show that its the air flow mass-is this correct-if so how can i determine?

O a search for the hundreds of MAF replacement discussions here. Find the mentioned insert online, and try it (or first try the cleaner for an even cheaper test).

In all likelihood, that will solve your problem. CEL will reset itself in 45 minutes of drive time.

PO170 is Fuel Trim Bank 1 but PO173 is Fuel Trim Bank 2. I had PO170 this week and put a new MAF on bank one and that code went away but have more to do. Hope that helps. dpowell

No but I have other problems I am working on but the PO170 did go away. CRC makes the cleaner and it did work on one but not the other so I had to replace it.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Maf

we only have one maf on the E,you have two on the 600sl???Bank 1 and bank 2 are both fed the maf adjusted fuel data from the same air box.
DIY clean or r/r over on benzworld.org w210 forum in the diy section. It is the problem, running any air filter other then oem?replace the filter when you clean or replace the maf.
autohausaz.com germanstar.net,code will clear, sometimes the light will come back on,clear it again while the engine adapts to the new fuel curve.

"GOT CODES?"
Your 2000 is getting ready for plugs $2.79 each at schucks/kraggen/autozone and a very good diy over on benzworld also

The maf insert which is the part that gets worn out, burned out, dirted out,is avail from germanstar.net for $129 http://www.germanstar.net/MAF.htm easy r/r and way less then a whole new maf.
