Its on the left side of the glove box. Little hole "Auido Jack". Just go to Radioshack and buy a audio cable with two male ends. It looks like a plug for earphones.

From what I understand only select W210's have the jack in the glove box on those with Command systems. Non-Command W210's do not have a jack.

I had the Griffin iTrip and I wasn't crazy about it, especially where I live. After trying out a few of these things I recommend the Monstor iCarPlay Wireless FM Transmitter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...d_i=B00019068G

Griffin
Road trip....picked it up today...has an extension that swivels and lets you move the nice looking unit for viewing, charges the ipod video,so you can leave the backlight on the pod display, sounds great,it must have a strong transmitter, when i tried it in the house I hooked it up to my laptop downstairs about 40 ft. and no static on the bang and olufsen upstairs.
I suppose you could hard wire it in to an ignition on 12 volt source and really make it look built in,but this way I can move it between cars.

"GOT CODES?"

at least it is a solution for ipod users and having used it all afternoon it sounds great in our area and we have a lot of strong stations in the puget sound area.
and now i can play the ipod in the garage when I'm working on the MG's.

just curious here, but why do you use the subject heading in replies to start a sentence ???
none of those FM transmittors are as good as a hardwired connection, IMHO. the tape adapter worked great, except for the mercedes sound system beeping because the tape deck wasn't shut all the way. once i get around that i should be fine.

i dunno, the ones i've used are terrible in my car at least, maybe it's the area i'm in, and i don't get a cassette sound w/ the adapter i have. just the annoying mercedes beep!

hang on . . . . I have an '02 E430 4-Matic with Nav, and one little hole on the inside left of my glove box. The hole is empty.
Does anyone have a pic?
Am I missing the obvious?
Help . . . . . . .

Just go to Radioshack and buy a audio cable with two male ends. It looks like a plug for earphones. Plug it into the hole and the other end to your Ipod, its "magic". Go to Aux on your Navi and it works. Push the system button and you will find it. I also remember a site that sold a kit that pluged into your factory harness to add audio plug for the Ipod. (Mercedes part) I think it was called Eginsoft something like that.

Mike430Sport,
I understand. I have the hole in the glovebox that everyone talks about. I tried to plug the adapter in it, but there's no plug/adapter there to receive the IPOD headphone wire!!!! That's the problem . . . . . . . .

I thought mine was just a hole at first but it is there. Problem for me is the volume needs to be very high, no power recharge and I don't like driving with the glove box open (either for a separate charger or so that I can easily select music), but it does work.

Mine is where I said it was, don't know where yours is. Did you buy yours new? Could a previous owner have used the auxl for a different device that was modded and removed for sale?

ah ha . . . . you may be onto something. I had an XM Commander Unit installed in my ashtray. It works off of the AUX setting. Do you think they took that plug from the glovebox and used it for the XM????
I will ask the installer . . . .
thank you.
