Replacement Bulbs
No one will help me on the 55 forum so hopefully someone here will. I need to know what bulb size the day lights are, the smaller ones next to the headlights. Thanks!

I'm trying to find something that will compliment the 8000k bulbs that I have for the fogs and soon to be headlights. I don't think they will look good with the stock yellow.
Does anyone have any ideas on what color and bulb to go with, as far as like white or blueish..etc?

Thanks. I'm only trying to get rid of the stock yellow light. I'm sure it would be hard to match them with the other lights. That would be too much when all on at once.

go over to Superbrightleds.com and try the 6led Cool Blue (the cool blue color is supposed to be 8000k) bulbs they have there. u can get those (which are wedge socket bulbs) or the h6w ones which only has 4 leds which isnt so bright but it comes in white the color is very similar. i got the wedge bulbs, went to napa auto parts and bought the wedge sockets and jus cut them to fit into the housing. it would probally match ur 8000k the best. btw what brand hid u got?

Exactly what you needed...
You asked the right person.... You can thank me later ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

I still have 2 sets in my room. Brand new it does emit bright white. Sorry no pics because I am running 194 city bulbs with Zams-retro HID now....
I agree you can go the LED route but you do definitely need resistors in order to run correctly (no errors). The resistors DO get hot and it might melt something.

h0rn3t920,
could you please explain how exactly you did this? maybe some pictures or part numbers if you have them handy.
I understand the wedge bulb, but what is a wedge bulb socket and how did you do it to fit. I would really appreciate you help.
thanks
btw, do the led's give you any trouble with the lamp disfunction error?

well i went down to NAPA auto parts and bought a wedge socket. it didnt fit the socket at all for the city bulb so i sanded it down then cut the wires to the original h6w city light socket and spliced the new socket in then jus put the bulbs in and stuck it into the socket. its awfully amateur but u cant notice anything from the outside. and yea i get the light defective error only cause im too lazy to put in a resistor. probally going to put one in sooon tho. they have leds to put into the h6w socket now tho so look around like at autolumination for them then u can just put them in and be done no changing of anything

both are bad because i took them with a camera phone.. so don't really know why i even posted them lol. They aren't an accurate representation. BTW, i don't have HID headlights.

Ok, so what I need to know is do you like them...are they bright enough to notice that they are even on? The ones I installed the other day, you can't tell that they are on in the day unless you look directly into them, and at night they are very dim as if they are only lit up due to the headlights being on beside them.
So what do you think? Can you see them in the day, and are they dim at night?
