No Throttle Responce...
Just replaced my throttle position sensor due to a P0220 fault code. Reset the OBD2 started it up and still no throttle response. No check engine light and no response for a second or two when I depress the accelerator then a slow rise in rpm's till it red lines. Idles like nothing is wrong. I noticed if I put the accelerator to the floor when I start it, it revs right up from the split second it starts till the system powers up and then it does what I said before. This would indicate to me that the throttle position sensor IS working. Could a Bad MAF do this? Any help would be appreciated.

Arent those electronic throttle bodies prone to failing? I dont know how they fail but it seemed to be a problem on the 98 and up e class among other classes.
Here's what i found:
"The new type Mercedes Bosch throttle bodies are starting to fail. Common problems will be
rough idling, lack of power and/or driving problems with different pedal positions (due to faulty
TPS). Cruise control can often fail to operate.
Fitted to Mercedes cars '98 onwards C / E / CLK / SLK Class."
Ive had a bad MAF but instead of the RPMs being slow they would bobble if you pegged it because i guess the ECU wasnt getting any information.

The wires
to the tpsrats like the coating. So when A new sensor is installed always check the wires for proper plug in and frayed or worn fittings and wire condition.Did I not point that out in another post dealing with this issue? This is the time of year you often find rat droppings on top of the engine under the engine cover if you pop it off to inspect.
Have some solace though rats and mice love BMW wire harnesses even more,so park one in your driveway as a trap like I do
