Valet wrecked my car

Went to a show this last Saturday night at one of the local casinos. When the valet brought my car around this is what I saw....

Kid jumps out of the car to collect my ticket and I shout "what did you do to my car" with a bunch of explitives. He shrugs his shoulders and says "I didnt to that" and runs off!

Got estimates today. In the neighborhood of $3k. They say they are investigating and will let me know if they will pay for it. I've got $5 that says they will!

Wow, I had something similar happen to me before in my Honda (i know, not a MB)...the valet parked the car on the curb b/c all of the spaces were full...well a truck or suv decided to back out of their space and put their trailer hitch right through my front bumper...valet service claimed no fault and the cheap SOB's wouldnt even cover my deductible...luckily my insurance guy said b/c it was a hit and run that my premium would not go up...good luck with your dilemna.

i think it's inconclusive that the valet indeed cause this directly. could have
very easily been another casino customer. hey, casinos have tons of surv
cameras. can you get security to help? may not be worth it if your insurance
company willing to label this a hit-n-run

They park them in valet only lots. Regular casino patrons do not have access to the lot. They have cameras everywhere so they will definitely have it on tape. Security is the one's conducting their "investigation", but they ultimately work for the casino, so who's side do you think they're on?

Good part is I have a few friends who are high-ups there so if need be, I'll pull them in. Hope not to even get them involved, but will if I have to.

Speaking of valets, id like to give a big shout out to the a**holes that work at Rivers Edge in L.I.C. Gave the guy a nice tip to keep an eye on my car..They park it up front, when i come out five hours later the car has been moved. A friend of mine mentioned that there were a few valets around my car when he arrived but i payed no mind.. As i left that night, they pull the car up and i give the guy another nice tip.. To dark to notice anything. When i get home and pull into the garage which is when i notice a nice scratch on the rear door about 6" long and down to the sheetmetal.. Now furious as hell, i head back the next day and the look on there faces when i pulled up said it all.. they ran to get the manager and he gives me the run around that they will have to contact their insurance company blah blah..call him back ten times and no response..They give you the run around until you just give up. Anyway, the place sucked and so did the service! Moral of the story, save your twenty bucks and park the damn thing yourself.. Rivers Edge Blows!

You know what I hate most about this. They will fix your car, but it will always be shown as being in an accident. I think Ins Co should have to pay for depreciation of your vehicle due to an accident that isn't your fault. If your car is ever at an auction, they will zap it with a paint depth meter and people won't go near it with a 10 foot pole! Only the poor buyer who has no clue will be out of the loop. I feel so bad for you, I hope and wish you get it resolved to your satisfaction.

Happened to me at a public parking lot, never had problem with them before, and one day I go to pick my car up after work didn't bother check, when I got out of my car at home I noticed it! Rushed back downtown told guy he said how do i know you didn't do it?...I said because I would not have driven all the way home just to come back downtown to tell you about exchanged words back and forth...

To make a long story short he said his manager would take care of it..and that i had to take it to his guy..I said no freakin way!! Took it to mercedes for estimate=$800-$900! for a deep ding and scratch about 2 inch's long not that bad though. So parking lot did cut me a check for the $900.00. Then he said I couldn't use the lot anymore believe that? After the dent my freakin car!!!

But if my car looked like yours somebody would get the BEATS!!!!

Looking at the pictures, it looks like it got hit, as opposed to the valet hitting something... any ideas on what you think happened? I'm not a fan of valet parking, just for that reason...

Took my motorhome in for service once... they bring the MH out to you so your not driving around a lot of RV's and possibly hit one. Service writer tells me to wait at a certain spot (passenger side) and the MH will be right up. Except I wait at a different spot and when the MH is pulled up, I can clearly see where they scrapped the rear driver's panel. Of course, the employee acted really 'surprised' and 'didn't know how that could have happened'. Even asked if it was that way when I brought it in. Told him funny, go get your service manager and body shop manager before I get you fired... shop did pay for all repairs.

Smile Valet drivers...

Dude you have to really watch the valet drivers, service guys, etc. Even watch your wife! LOL.

My father has a Mustang GT, 2006 and hit a deer. He only got a small dent and headlight smashed, and took it in to get fixed. When he got the car back, he noticed about 300-400 miles more on the car. The guys at the shop say we don't know about it..since he did not have a picture of a before in the shop it turned into an oh well moment. I think the guys had Ferris Bueller blowout in his ride.

I was checking out Wrecked Exotics some time ago, and saw a Ferrari that got OWNED due to valet getting jollies.

Sorry about your ride, get them to pay for it! That sucks and blows at the same time.

ML320, Looking for my S4
I had a very similar dent on my car. It looks as if someone backed in to the door.

you can get "diminished value"

I just had ~$8k in body repairs done to my '01 E55 from an accident that was someone else's fault. Per Oh Lord's suggestion, I submitted a claim for "Diminished Value" and got a check for $1,800 from the insurance company on top of paying for all the repairs. I felt that was fair since it basically covers the difference between the current KBB value of my car at "Good" condition (pre-accident) vs. "Fair" condition (post-accident). It's worth a shot...the worst they can say is "no".

If I were you I would've turned him into a *******g hood ornament on my E55, then I'd make the casino pay for that damage too.

After many phone calls and arguing with their "Security Investigator", they are gonna pay for my highest estimate I got, and they are going to get me a rental car in my name. I'm still not happy though.

These guys are in the hospitality business, and still to this day, not once single employee of this establishment has apologized. And everytime I've talked to this security guy, it's like I'm putting him out.

I talked to my insurance guy about the diminished value, and he said good luck. And after how much they've been fighting me on this, I doubt they'd even give it lip service. I dont think it will diminish my value much though even though it will probably hit carfax. The damage is superficial cosmetic damage only and not structural, so I can argue with a buyer later if they have concernes with it. I will show them pics, etc. Besides, I'll probably drive this thing til it quits anyways, so I'm not really concerned with re-sale value right now.

I just feel like this place didnt handle this at all in any kind or professional manner. I'm not expecting my *** kissed, a free room, a comped drink, my hand held.......nothing. I am only expecting my car fixed properly without any expense from my own pocket. They have been fighting me the whole way. I'm not one to bad-mouth, so I was not going to post the name of the casino. However, since they treated me so bad, I dont want anyone else to go through the same hassle I did.

It is Peppermill hotel/casino here in Reno, NV. If you're traveling here, I would recommend going somewhere else. Bunch of jerks.

Well, that's one reason why I don't use Valet Service anywhere! Other reasons are they always move my seat, mirrors, etc., and I hate that... I've also heard too many stories of people getting their cars scratched, so nope, forget it, I will park the car on my own, even if it's less convenient.

I've been to the Peppermill many years ago... it was a nice place, but between going to Tahoe (3.5 hr drive) and Vegas (1.3 hr flight), I'd prefer to go to Vegas!
