What do i need to update look?
I want to convert my car to the updated look of the e55 (2000 + body, whole car not just front). I know i need the front bumper and side skirts. But looking at the car i think i may need alot more such as hood, fenders, grill, lights? Im going to update the body to new style and do a bunch of other cosmetics (tint, new wheels, roof spoiler, mirrors, drop, dual exhaust). My biggest concern is the updated looks of the car as i feel the 420 just doesnt cut it anymore.
Thanks

A couple of reasons.... 1- I paid nothing for this car (i have a dealers license and got it at the auction for an unbelievable price). 2- I'm 22 years old don't owe a dime to anyone (including credit cards, etc..) and don't feel like paying a note every month. 3- Because my farther owns a dealership, i get wholesale prices on all parts, body work, tires, pretty much anything car related (to do the hood, bumpers, fenders, sides, mirrors, and rear its only going to cost around $1500. 4- My job only requires me to work 6 months of the year (summers) so this would be fun to do over the winter.
Thanks for all the replies to my question. If anyone knows of anything else its appreciated. For those of you that say don't waste your money, re-read above.
Oh yeah i already have all the updated lights, and some other odds and ends.
Thanks

Great then! You should have mentioned this in your OP so we would have known where you stood... ...can't read your mind you know!?
I think you answered your own question too since you have all the good hookups! Good deal for all that - for only $1500 bills! Have fun doing this over the winter, and please do post pics with your finished results!
Good luck mate! Hope it turns out well!!

Can't wait to see the finished product
Personally, I am adding side skirts and painting the lower black panels on my 98 e430 because I don't want to spend that much on the car, but the end product of what you plan on doing should look great

So i put together a to do list, heres what i'm planning so far.
-front end (e55)face lift
-updated side skirts and rear bumper
-dual exhaust (just like the white one axl something on here)
-hid headlights + fogs (no bright blue or anything ricey)
-roof spoiler
-flat hood badge
-tint windows, taillights
-updated mirros
-clear bumper lights
-respraying entire car silver & respraying roof black (like the w211)
-find the chrome monoblocks in 19" staggered but will settle for silver
-nice tires with some nice meats in the back
-lower the car (this is where i need help)
Going to do a couple things on the interior as well (navigation, switch all wood to carbon or the dark wood (black), door sills.
Thats about it dont really want to drop more money into it. I figure i can put about 3-4 grand into it (total) sell it a year or two after im done (prob 6 grand or so ) and break even ( Auctions)

allow me to suggest the 8000k prolumens in headlight and fog and cool white led.
they look SICK i have leds in every thing in my car (parking lights, licence plate lights, interior lights, puddle lights, trunk light, glove box light haha)
its a great upgrade but ur going to need resistors. it looks great its the best match with hids

What are "prolumens". And where would the cool white led go? I plan on changing the plate lights to led. My taillights are led with resistor and i pulled my driving lights out as i hated the look of the inside lights always on.

prolumen is the HID brand and the cool blue LED's would go into driving lights so they would match the 8000k hids. and then you can just get white leds to put around in the car its bright and looks cool at night especially the puddle/courtesy foot lights

8000k might be too blue. 6000k is the sweet spot in my opinion.
get the Apex 55 watt system from this place. The good thing about this system is the wattage matches that of a halogen lamp so the you won't get the lamp defect warning. I literally plugged the ballast wires into the positive and negative of the lamp socket of my headlamps and it worked without a problem. these things are so sweetly bright (almost twice the 35 watts). and if you are doing the projector lens you shouldn't have to worry about the oncoming drivers.

I'm guessing with the headlights your doing the clear projectors so what you need to do is a retrofit and not just throw in some blue bulbs unless you want to drive around blind! By the way, I was thinking about doing what you're doing but it is definitely not worth it regardless of how cheap you have access to the parts or labor. If you can buy cars so cheap than you should sell your car stock at retail value and not put a penny more in it and then buy an 00-02 e55 amg at wholesale for around 12-15k with good mileage. Once again not tying to ruin your party but why drop so much money just to make your car "look" like an e55 when its not and + you will not have the amg motor!

on bulb wattage or ballast wattage. What is being suggested is to increase by 30% the power through an HID bulb nominally rated for 35 watts. Sure, it will
burn brighter. But it will also burn much hotter (ºF) than designed, potentially
damaging the bulb holder and/or reflector. Unless you're certain that your
particular application can withstand this added power consumption (ergo, heat)
you're taking a big risk. MB 210 factory wiring isn't known for being overbuilt.
Experience would caution that such power enhancements incorporate a well designed (and fuse protected) relay subharness. Bluntly put, your blanket
recommendation is anecdotal, based on the success of a single, generic
application, and thus, ill advised.

19" tires will already be about $1,000. 19" chrome AMG wheels, at least 2k, then all the bodywork.
P.S., the 211 doesn't have a "black sprayed roof". thats the pano roof option, and its glass, not paint.

sell your car for a decent amount, then add onto it for a newer car...Even if you did get the car for free and don't owe anything, that is completely irrelevant. You'll start to owe money when you spend all that money making it more modern.

I appreciate your comments, suggestions, and input but thanks it’s my car and ill do as I please. It’s a public forum and you are all entitled to your own opinions as am I. You guys need to understand I have already priced everything out includes paint (I am not paying for any labor on anything just materials and parts). I also get wholesale costs on most stuff. For example it usually cost upwards of 200 to tint a car while I only have to pay the price of tint. It’s actually very simple as a dealer you get wholesale and great rates because on the other end they understand you have to turn this car for a profit but in this case I am doing it to my personal car.
For the people that say don’t waste your money etc, again I understand that’s your opinion but to me I rather have a bunch of money in my bank account, no debt (even my insurance is paid in full). Especially with times like these and everyone is being cheap I still do everything I want because I have been smart and haven’t went out and bought that x5 4.8 that I wanted because I rather live comfortable. Plus I live in the city and I would never want my new car to get beat up the way it is out here

Its your car so you can do as you please but that is just plain retarded. I own a business and even if you buy wholesale parts they are not a ton cheaper than retail price maybe 35% and most of the time name brand items like Mercedes the wholesale price is maybe 10% cheaper than retail. And also, you're saying you get most things wholesale but most places that sale wholesale to dealers don't carry all these after market parts especially for a car of your age.
