Instrument Cluster Cracks

I have a couple of hairline, 1/2" cracks coming up from the base of the instrument cluster lens- is there anything I can do to replace the lens only, or am I limited to buying the whole thing? Thanks...

I have a complete working cluster with front plexiglass cover that fits 210 and 208. It is black on black. That gage pack can be removed from the front glass and surround once you pull the unit. It is easy to do. If interested I will sell the unit for 50 bucks plus ship coming from Pittsburgh, 15218. I believe the unit reads just a little north of 17k miles. You could use the cover and glass from this piece for your existing unitand be done withit in about 20-30 minutes total time invested. The unit pops out in a matter from second and is held in by four tabs one in each corner kind of like a press fit. There are two electrical cable attachments from behind that are very easy to disconnect and only go on one way so no mistakes from the novice. Email me direct at ejsheltra at yahoo dot com and I will try to help. Good luck

Unless

it is from a 1997 he can't use the cluster. he would need to remove the lens and replace it.

then he could sell a good cluster for 50 bucks to someone with a bad cluster in their 97 but they have a good lens on it

Yep, 210 is pretty specific per the repair manual. So I guess I need to order the whole box, eh?

http://paspeedo.com/ can reprogram a used one with the correct mileage. I'm pretty sure that SDS then needs to version code it to match the car.

Later models

98 on up the miles are stored in the ecu.Sds will be needed if you replace the unit instead of just the cracked lens.

Visible Mileage is stored in the cluster, i.e. you can program the cluster miles on your vehicle to whatever you want without any apparent conflicts, but when you plug into the SDS it will show two different mileages
