My E430 just died
Can anyone give me any suggestions. My E430 was running fine when, it just died. It will crank but not fire. I have replaced the Crank Shaft Positioning Sensor, the fuel filter and I can hear the fuel pump running when I turn the key on. It will fire if I spray starting fluid in the intake but just for a moment so I know it's getting spark. What else could cause it not to get fuel. (Yes it has gasoline)

I understand and it was just a handy way to confirm spark in the engine but thanks for the info.

No I haven't had it to a shop yet and the radio is not stock so I can't read the codes.
One more thing of note is, when I turn the key on,I can hear a noise from the engine which I assumed was the fuel pump but the noise stays constant so I'm not sure the fuel pump is working. Is there an easy way to check that?

I have no idea where that is. I do hear a buzz type noise when I turn the key to the on position but that is not the fuel pump. (I pulled the fuel pump fuse and still hear the noise) How whould I check the relay?

Ok, I tested the relay and it is working. I then put a screwdriver from my ear to the fuel pump and had my wife try to turn the car on. I didn't hear or feel any vibrations or noise from the pump. (I also checked the voltage and it is 12 V going to the pump).
Is there an easy place to check to see if fuel is getting to the engine before I pay the $250.00 for a new pump?
