srs light dilemma
My Indie wants $100 to diagnosis the SRS fault light. When I start the car, the SRS light stays on and the 'air bag off' light' comes on for a second, and then it's off.
Is it worth my time by removing the passenger seat, looking for crimped wires and if I don't find any, take a stab in the dark and replace the passenger seat sensor?
I'd hate to spend $200 on the sensor and realize that it didn't fix the issue because I wanted to save $100 for the SRS diagnostic fee and then realize is was something else.

The seat cover is usually held in place at the bottom by a U shapped channel. Typically, you compress the cushion which provides enough slack to relace the cover from the channel.
Regardless of what you do with the SRS; it is going to have to be cleared with SDS or other high end scanner before the light is going to go out.

you wont see anything wrong with it. It either works or it doesnt. Im my case, the wire got cut where it is strapped to the seat bottom. Repaced it about 2 yrs ago. no probs with the car since
