trolley jack?

Cheers
I have never been tempted to lift mine by its light weight cross member or its diff or subframe.
MB does make a metal rod with ~4" dia welded plate that can be inserted into the factoy jack tubes. Using them allows the floor jack to be out from under the car and for jack stands to then be placed beneath the factory jack pads.
In the picture shown, you can see I jacked up the whole front of the car with a single jack (a large 3.5 ton jack) at the center of the cross member. There is a rectangular rubber/plastic pad (just like the four other pads on the sides of the car). You can barely see the two wheels of the large jack in between the two tires.
It does requires a low profile jack to fit under the belly panels or you need to drive the car onto a 2x10 or somesuch first. In my case, I use a small floor jack to lift the car just a bit, then use the large jack to lift the whole front, and then slide the ramps under the tires.

Will ask some other diesel friends if theirs has that pad to determine if mine is missing or if perhaps it is not applicable to all W210's (e.g: diesels).

When I got my 03 wagon, all four side jack pads were missing and I had to buy 4. I bet the previous owner did not like the black look so he took them off.
