city light bulb
I have a 2001 e430 and want to change my city light bulbs (the small light) to match the color of my xenon headlights (blueish purple). Any ideas on where to buy them and what kind. Thx

To get ones that look the best imo, you will want to switch to led lights. You will have to get the bulbs and a resistor so you dont get the "lamp defective" message. All the filament bulbs dont look near as good. You can get some good led's off ebay, autolumination.com, or superbrightleds.com.

Yes
don't install led's. Stock bulbs don't need to have nubs shaved off.
If you need them blue you tint them with blue model paint.

If you need to replace the unit you will have to remove the bumper to remove the headlight.
DIY for that procedure is on www.benzworld.org w210 diy section

until
someone does not see them because they were not designed for the reflectors in stock fixtures. Or they fry a circuit. Or they neeed to be filed off to fit and break a socket. Then apparently they must be worth every penny they cost

Yea you have to be careful, there are alot of led's made that the base will plug in but it wont fit though the housing. They are cheap enough just try and find some other ones that fit. It aint worth breaking the whole headlight housing, and having to deal with moisture getting in, for one led bulb.
