Lug Bolts Seized, need wheel hub, any ideas?
I cannot get the lug bolts off my front wheel. I had a garage try it with hydraulics and pry bar. Only way to get it off is to break the lugs and get a new wheel hub. Has anyone used any other method than breaking the lugs? AND....where can I get a cheap hub !? Thank you

Kroil
and heat. Try the kroil first.
And when fixed always hand torque to 80ft lb.in the proper pattern

Heat from the rear should get it. Snaping them off will not get the wheels off because the bolt head will snap above the nub that holds the wheel on. The new replacement bolts are shorter.
I snapped my bolts off and my mechanic was able to get the bolts out somehow with damaging the wheels or hub. Dont know how he did it but I was grateful

Get a socket on the bolt head, take a heavy hammer and wack the bolt like there is no tomorrow. Repeat with all seized bolts. Get like a wise grip to hold the socket on the bolt so that it can be hammered without getting the rim damaged. Thats how I opened my rims today. If this doesn't work heat from the back. Breaking them will cost u lots of money and it will be a big headache. Get newer smaller bolts from the dealership or online

There is a comment from some, and MB, not to use antiseize or lubricant. The suggestion was to make sure the bolts are clean when re-istalled. In my opinion rust and those wheel cleansers may have someting to do with it, and mechanics with impact wrenches. I have seen some run the bolts down with the impact and then use a torque wrench, the problem is if they are too tight the torque will click but does not show over. There should be at least a quarter or half a turn if properly done.

If I may add, now that the bolts are out apply anti seize grease on the bolts, so this experience will never happen again.

Don't use
anti seize on lugs. Clean threads, torque properly (80ft lb is less then you think) and you won't have problems.
Not on plugs, either
